"It ain't braggin' if you can do it"--and David Tipling clearly is a professional who can! More importantly, Tipling freely shares his knowledge and encourages the reader to get the most out of today's digital photography technology. He laces the text with easily understood explanations and helpful tips as he works through the process from selecting the best equipment for one's purposes to the final editing and publication of the finished images. He reveals "secrets" of successful wildlife photography that most professionals would hold close to the vest. Refreshingly, he also includes several notes regarding the ethics of capturing and publishing images. A great read and an especially useful tutorial that significantly enhanced my recent photo-safari to southern Tanzania! I would recommend this book as essential preparation for any such adventure.

I purchased a number of the nature&wildlife and bird photography books, and this one didn't impressed me much. For an experienced wildlife photographer, and I am, this book ain't providing something revolutionary, but for a rookie, it'll be pretty good book. So, I can recommend it for the photographers who'll devote a bit more time in shooting birds, but had no greater experience before. Furthermore, Guy Edwardes for example, provided much better photographs in his book "100 Ways to take better Nature & Wildlife Photographs", than Mr Tipling, according to his great reputation. I still can not figure out why second-class photographs? I, also, purchased his Bird Photography Field Guide which is still in the state of reviewing. I'm just wondering how it will look like?
Amazon? Great as usual. Still am your loyal customer. :-))
