I searched for clocks and sorted by 'Avg Customer Review' These clocks are Number 1.

This item is too expensive, with too many recent reviews.

I became suspicious, so I clicked each reviewer, and sure enough, the only thing they have reviewed are clocks by this brand.

Someone with too much time on their hands has a lot of spare Amazon.com accounts, and broke the EULA.

I have had 3 of these, they all died. First one lasted 10 months, and was replaced for free. That one lasted 2 months, and it died. Again, replaced for free. This third one also lasted a couple of months and also died. I chucked it in the trash.

I've had the original Zen alarm clock, triangle shape, for years and would never go back to a traditional alarm, or even another clock radio. I used to hit the snooze 2 or 3 times a day, so I'd have to set the alarm half an hour before I needed to get up. When I finally did get up I was not happy about being up. Now I wake up on the first or second chime, but just lay there gradually waking up. When the next chime comes I get up, feeling refreshed and ready for the day.
Recently I started traveling more and realized how addicted I was to the progressive chime wake up. On the days I could figure out how to use the hotel alarm clock, I woke up just as cranky and tired as I used to with my old alarm clock. So I purchased the digital Zen alarm clock. It's the same great wake up, but portable. I no longer dread waking up when I travel.
The digital clock also has a built in timer. It's just what I need for my new excercise regimine. I set the timer, turn on the repeat and hit start. The timer counts down what I have programed, chimes once and starts over. I can move from activity to activity without having to watch a clock or stop every time to restart a timer. It's great.

I have owned the "triangle" version of this concept for a number of years now, and have always enjoyed the process of a "gradual awakening" each morning.

A little while back, I received the digital version of this clock as a present. As I started playing with it, I discovered that this is not only the same great idea for waking up in the morning; there are a number of added features which give it much more versatility than the triangle version.

I use this particular clock primarily while working in my home office, where I have it set to chime on the hour. If I want to spend time working on a number of different projects during the course of a morning or afternoon, I set the built-in timer function to remind me (gently) when I need to wrap-up my current project and move on to the next one.

This clock also has a display which can be set to stay on continuously (in AC mode). Sometimes, if I want to meditate in the evening hours, it allows me to keep the space lighting to a minimum, while making it easy for me to see the clock and turn the chime off when my session is complete.

I find both of my Zen Alarm Clocks to be a wonderful addition to my home and lifestyle. Now with the digital version, I have something that brings more quality to my "conscious" time.

I have a perfectly working Triangle shaped original that dates back to the 90's. i also have a digital version on every night stand in my house. The gentle wake up experience makes for an amazing start to the day. I have given this digital as a gift over and over again with nothing but praise and thanks. In fact, I have never had a more positive experience with a company than with the NOW & ZEN people.

I take exception with the tone of T. Haske's review and consider the comments to be rash and irresponsible.
I own 2 Zen Alarm clocks and I think they are wonderful. They have worked without fault for over 9 years, are a tremendous value for the money, and a wonderful way to wake up.
