Product Description

This is a high quality digital k-type thermometer for contact temperature measurements. It has two inputs for K-type thermocouples and can display T1 or T2. It also allows to display the differential temperature T1-T2 . It will display the temperature in 1 degree F or C steps. It can be used in HVAC trade to check air conditioners, heaters or furnaces. It conveniently allows to measure an inlet and an outlet temperature. It is also great for science fair projects and whenever you need a precise measurement of two temperatures. Also used in re-flowing and to measure the temperature on computer chips. It comes with two 3 ft (1 m) temperature probes, they have a glass fiber insulation and work up to about 500°F (260°C) , but any other K-type probe with miniature thermocouple connector can be used. To use the thermometer for temperatures above 500 degree use a the stainless steel insertion k-type thermocouple probes.

The thermocouple works well with a variety of mini-K type probes. It seems to have a quick response time. The temperature difference often seems to show rounding effects (T1 measures 79, T2 measures 80, but the difference measures 0), which means it probably has at least one digit not displayed. This is generally a good thing.

Which brings me to the reason this got four stars instead of five. The image shows it displaying decimal 0.1 degree C increments, while the text says 1 degree increments. The 1 degree increment display is correct. You can't get at 54.2 degree C reading on this device, it rounds to 54. I'd bet the accuracy of the device is not much more than one degree, so I'm not too worried about losing something important. However the picture is somewhat misleading, if you thought you'd be getting a more accurate device than you are.

It comes with two probes, but switching to other mini-K type probes was not a problem. Generally, a handy thermocouple.

Nice cheap thermometer.
Would be nice if it would remember last unit setting - it always starts with celsius.

Like the rubber around casing !

I bought two trial products a year ago, intending to add more. They are taking industrial abuse and have performed as well as products we have bought from Europe... at twice this price.
