Does not work on wood,

Stay away from this moisture meter if you specifically want to use it on wood. It does not work on any woods that I tried it on. I tried it on: maple, purpleheart, granadillo, tulipwood, bocote, cocobolo, padauk, morado, kingwood, yellowheart, poplar, oak, rosewood and wenge and the reading is consistent at 2%. The item was not defective because when I push the pins on the palm of my hand, it read 30% so it does detect moisture but not on wood though. I had it replaced at first because I thought it was a defective product but the second item is the same way.
