Six Picks: Recommendations from the Monitor staff AAC, CCD, GUI, HUH? It's easy to get overwhelmed with initial-itis, especially when talking technology. In Digitally Daunted: The Consumer's Guide to Taking Control of the Technology in Your Life, authors Sean and Jean Westcott (a techie and a nontechie, respectively) explain the hieroglyphics, plus the pros and cons of each technology. Which cellphone to buy? Laptop or desktop computer? What if something goes wrong? Their guidance is clear, concise, and helps you TCB ASAP. --The Christian Science Monitor--Six Picks

The authors take a real-world common sense approach to consumer technologies and end up providing an entertaining antidote to the confusion and misinformation that is rampant in our world. Heartily recommended!! --Gary Yacoubian, President, Consumer Electronics Association and President, MyerEmco AudioVideo

This is a great overview, description and examination of today's leading technologies. It's well done, informative, easy to read, and you don't have to be a dummy to find it helpful. --Eric Bloom, Author of Manager Mechanics

4.0 out of 5 stars Excellent tool for my digital toolbox, May 20, 2009
Great book! I am already using it to help non techie friends with their techie questions. My non techie friends appreciate the concise plain every day language explanations. Future updates of this book as our digital world continues to unfold would be very much appreciated. (no pressure though)

5.0 out of 5 stars A great guide to everyday electronics, December 3, 2008
I've already consulted this book many times. My husband read the TV section before heading to the store. I also gave a copy to my mother, and she used one of their easy trouble-shooting tips, and she's 83! The authors make it easy for everyone to understand.
