Product Description

Life is experienced through the senses, so why not experience the sense of sound to its fullest? The ZO personal subwoofer transforms sound as you know it, to sound as it should be.

Connect this tiny yet powerful device between any media source and speaker system to give your audio the full, rich sound of a subwoofered system. And even if you have a sub, ZO 2 improves overall bass performance and impact.

Dares to be different.
Audio experts claim that getting big bass out of small speakers is impossible. That’s why digital signal processing is used to make you think you're hearing bass. But, if digital audio enhancement to fix compressed digital file formats seems like an oxymoron, it’s because it is. There’s a secret to reproducing big bass from small speakers, and we’ve found it: SmartVektor™ technology.

Blow your mind. Not your ears.™
Until now, you had to constantly turn up the volume to get the bass you wanted. Unfortunately, this desensitizes the ear and leads to hearing loss. But, if you want great sound, and the ability to hear it for the rest of your life, ZO 2 is the cure. You no longer have to max out the volume to hear the full, bass-rich sound you crave.

Same gear, new sound.
Sure, you could take the expensive route and upgrade your earphones, car stereo, computer speakers, gaming gear, and home stereo, but why? You can add the ZO 2 to any (or all) of your existing setups *, and not only reward your ears but your wallet.

Also, with 32 contour profiles, you can customize the ZO 2 to whatever you're listening to. So if you love ultra-low rumbling bass for movies, subwoofer thump for your favorite music, or crystal clear vocals, the ZO 2 will have you rediscovering the power of sound.

I also tried with an ipod, and just connecting it alone does an amazing job of improving sound quality and bass.

Overall, I was really pleased with the ZO and can highly recommend it to any consumer looking to invigorate his or her audio.

The bass gets as deep and full as I want without sounding muddy: detail is maintained across the entire frequency range.

In my quest for better quality audio, I ran into a couple of things. One was the Audio Technica ATH-M50s and the other was the digiZoid ZO2 Portable Headphone Amplifier. Unlike most headphone amps, the ZO offers a bit more. Not only does it power or drive headphones, it also lets users tweak the audio to their liking. A user can choose to add a bass boost or neutralize a track by lessening bass slightly or all the way. The main question though is whether or not its advertised features work well. Read on past the break to find out.

Features

The ZO can power headphones up to 250 ohms. So to translate, it can power most consumer-grade headphones. For an audiophile with $400+ equipment, I'd recommend looking elsewhere because the ZO will most likely not be able to cut it. However for those like myself who own headphones anywhere from $10-$300, the ZO will be just fine.

Now what exactly does the ZO do? Using digiZoid's integrated SmartVektr technology, the ZO is able to provide deep, powerful bass or a flatter response. It's all really up to the individual and his or her preference. But once having decided, you can use the toggle on the side to power on the device and commence tweaking. By default, the light bar will be at a orange-yellow color. This is going to power and add a moderate amount of bass. Now here comes the fun part. The ZO has 32 SST profiles or equalizer presets to choose from. This allows you to really fine tune your audio to your liking, something you don't see in any other amp.

- As you move the toggle upwards, the light will begin turning more and more red. The max red will give you maximum amount of bass the ZO can provide. At this level, tracks will sound incredibly bass-filled. This isn't a bad thing though.

I listen to a lot of house, bass-heavy electronica, pop, and jazz via my laptop and a pair of Audio-Technica ATH-A700 headphones and the Digizoid ZO 2 Personal Subwoofer is the audio equivalent of viewing a picture in full, saturated color vs. black & white. The bass gets as deep and full as I want without sounding muddy: detail is maintained across the entire frequency range. Battery life is excellent and the controls intuitive. I have to admit to feeling very hesitant about dropping $100 on this little gizmo but considering that my headphones are my office (I work in a noisy open office environment) I thought I'd treat myself. After 8 months of almost daily use I can't imagine listening to music without it!

This sound processor has been my best purchase in recent memory....it has tremendously improved my quality of life with no exaggeration....I sit in an office all day and this little box has enabled me to enjoy music like I did when I was in high school. Coupled with bass music from the 90's on rhapsody with a creative xfi soundcard and Sony xb-500's or skullcandy titans with eq v'd +xfi@85 % and bass dial at 3 o'clock. I can get almost the same experience as my 2 earthquake 15" isobaric subs from high school...I absolutely love and would recommend this box to everyone. It has my absolute HIGHEST recommendation!

small yet works much bigger than its size
the product is called a portable subwoofer, but this is more a mini amp for driving earphones from either a audio out or line out source such as a computer, smartphone or even a TV
I got these to boost the sound coming from earbuds that I use with my Touchpad & Veer
the improvement in sound is nothing short of stunning
the ZO2 may be the least expensive way to augment your portable sound system

I asked for an expedited delivery & was willing to pay the difference from the base delivery price
I was amazed to have the unit delivered a few days after ordering it
No additional charge!

I've long put off purchasing an iPod or mp3 player because none that I've seen have ever had a decent equalizer, which I felt I needed because the bass rumble and overall sound replication I've heard on iPods and the like were generally unimpressive. The ZO 2 has a ballin' as hell equalizer that actually works (the 32 pre-set contour profiles) yet it never feels like there's an imbalance in the sound spectrum that causes me to constantly manipulate the equalizer. Usually, selecting a contour profile for an entire album is all I ever need to do to really tune out the world and enjoy the music. Without this little device, even these headphones Sennheiser HD-280 PRO Headphones sound flat. The difference in quality with and without it are like night and day. I'm never listening to music with my headphones without the ZO 2 again.

This little device packs quite a punch! I have a pair of Sennheiser HD-595s, and the zo2 offers an immediately noticeable increase in quality of sound and bass levels.

PROS:
-The bass levels are fantastic! Not only are they immediately apparent in high-quality headphones, but the ability to turn the levels down and up is really great. Hip-hop and shoegaze do well with a lot of bass, but some genres do not, and you can adjust accordingly.
-Not only is the bass seriously enunciated, but the music is a lot cleaner. Noticeable background hiss is absent as soon as you turn the zo2 on.
-It's very small and lightweight, so it's not a hassle to have it in the same pocket as your mp3 player or phone.
-Incredibly simple to use. There is only one switch and it controls everything. I was a bit confused at first, but after reading the manual that comes with it, I now know exactly how it works.
-Great price for the technology. Other similar amps can cost $150 and up.

CONS:
-The battery life isn't fantastic if you have the bass levels all the way up. It's still probably a good 8-10 hours, but I was under the impression that it would be longer.

And that's pretty much it. It's an awesome device and I'd recommend it to anyone who is serious about the quality of their music.
