Editorial Reviews

Review

Cutting an engaging, though not particularly knightly, figure in Beck's frequent pen drawings, Digory proves by the end that having a head on one's shoulders--plus a magic sword--is all a hero really needs. Fine fare for fans of Cressida Crowell's Viking farces and other Brit-flavored tales of derring-do. (Kirkus Reviews)

Illustrated with amusing black-and-white drawings, this lighthearted fantasy spoof is filled with mock heroic dialogue and derring-do. (School Library Journal)

Format: Paperback
My son is in 3rd grade and loved this two book series. They are a quick read, in which he could finish this book in about two nights. It has many illustrations to keep a child interested. I haven't read it so I can't give my opinion but I atleast wanted others to know, that my child loved it. I keep looking for new authors for him and this is one I will keep an eye out for new books in his age group.
