This album was recorded in Harry's living room and is not a serious piece of work. Harry was making some really good studio records around this time so it appears this one was just Harry goofing around at home. If you want to hear some fantastic music, get one of Harry's professionally produced CD's like Who Put The Benzedrine or Everybody's Crazy But Me. Get this one last.

"Judy was a beauty, ooby-dooby...and wow, she could shake her booty-wooty...ooby-dooby-dooby-dooby-dooby...Now, you know Dasher, Dancer, Prancer and Vixen...Comet and Cupid, Donner and Blitzen! But do you recall, the cat, I mean the one who started it all...Everybody knows his name, he's in the reindeer Hall of Fame!"

Now, how can you resist lyrics like that as an intro to "Rudolph the Red-Nosed Reindeer"? So what, Harry recorded this in his living room, a few tracks with a drummer who sounded stoned, the other tracks with a rhythm-ace that keeps gaining time? This is like having your grandpa sit at the piano and jive for you at Christmas....IF your grandpa was a Juilliard-graduate, hot stride piano master who smoked enough weed to make him higher than Santa's sleigh in the sky and wanted to make you laugh at Christmas until you couldn't laugh any more.

I was only going to give this CD 4 stars, but when I saw that some cruel heathen only gave it one, I just HAD to compensate. I've played this album every single Christmas since I first bought it on LP back in 1977. It's outlasted most of my glass tree ornaments and even some of my Christmas trees. You Go, Harry!!
