"Dim Light" is one of the most remarkable debuts of the year so far. I first noticed the Olympia, Washington band from their contribution to the excellent "Rough Trade Counter Culture 2008" compilation with the track "Your Will". This mini-LP is filled to the brim with the buzzing sound of guitars exploding in lo-fi. It brings to mind the heroic days of the '80s underground scene and makes me wanna shout "Just gimme indie-rock!", as Sebadoh once did. The highlight for me is "Troubles Like Mine", the latest addition to my "Killer Tracks" Hall of Fame, which you can find in the Cool Music Central blog.
