5.0 out of 5 stars Execellent CD-ROM
I love the CD-ROM that came with this book. It makes the whole dimensional analysis process easy to learn and understand. After the first few lessons, I understand how to calculate a dose and an IV infusion rate and I haven't even read much of the text. Maybe it's just how I learn, but I find the CD-ROM alone to be worth the price of the book. If you have insecurities...

1.0 out of 5 stars Poorly devised text...
I agree that one would reckon that 3 editions and in charging almost $80 for a text that is less than half an inch thick, Thompson could competently execute simple math operations. Next time, I will just run copies of a text for my partner and I, rather than pay for such a confounded and exploitative text.

5.0 out of 5 stars Great Book!, January 11, 2008
This book is a good book for those who want to learn drug dosage and do not have a strong background in Math. It has a comprehensive step-by-step review for the math that is needed to master the material. As someone whose weakness is math, I found the book to be an easy read and walked a way with a weath of knowledge...

1.0 out of 5 stars full of errors, August 15, 2007
I found at least 5 errors in this book and i'm only on chapter 10. Its full of simple addition errors. It gives some answers by accident right next to the question. You would think by the 3rd edition they would have some of these corrected.

1.0 out of 5 stars Not right edition, September 23, 2008

I was mislead by the ad and the book is the wrong edition. Only buy things that are specific and include a picture. Now I know why this info was left out. Thanks for nothing........waste of my money.

3.0 out of 5 stars Decent but many errors, June 28, 2011
Amazon Verified Purchase(What's this?)
My nursing program uses this book and it was helpful and did illustrate how to do the problems in an easy to understand manner. However throughout the book there are numerous mathemathical errors that the author has as 'right' answers. Towards the end of the book they were all over the place so we ended up talking to our teachers to ensure the answers we had were correct.

It is a great book to learn the process but I wish the author had taken extra time to review the math. So many miscalculations would be dangerous out in the real world.

4.0 out of 5 stars Perfectly Adequate, June 13, 2011
Amazon Verified Purchase(What's this?)
I received the correct edition of this book with absolutely no errors so I really have no complaints. I do know, however, that for some reason early printings of this edition do have some math errors and typos. I guess it's just pure luck which one you get but I'm very happy with mine. Sure, it is basic math, but it teaches you some different formulas for specifically calculating dosages and conversions.
