These are certainly not the choice if you want to save money or the environment. The bulbs burn out relatively quickly, leaving you with the chore of finding a place to dispose of the mercury laden lamp and the need to buy a replacement. If they lasted the "up to 7 years" as touted my the manufacturer, this would be acceptable, but since some don't even last seven months, there are no advantages to purchasing them.
