5.0 out of 5 stars I like 'em
Only got two, but both are great. Nice color, and best of all, they dim almost all the way down. Using them in a living room ceiling light with a Lutron dimmer.

I'm discovering a lot of variation among various dimmable CFLs regarding just how dim they'll get; I got, elsewhere, some Bulbrite 15W R30 (small floodlight) format CFLs, and they only seem to go down...

3.0 out of 5 stars not bad when they work, but high failure rate
I have 4 of these on the same dimmer and it took several trips to the orange box store to get 4 that would stay working. Fortunately, they usually die within the first few days, or they keep working. We're going on 3+ years of pretty consistent usage @ about 4 to 6 hours/day but I believe I had to return 5 failures before getting 4 that kept working. As other have...

Only got two, but both are great. Nice color, and best of all, they dim almost all the way down. Using them in a living room ceiling light with a Lutron dimmer.

I'm discovering a lot of variation among various dimmable CFLs regarding just how dim they'll get; I got, elsewhere, some Bulbrite 15W R30 (small floodlight) format CFLs, and they only seem to go down to maybe 30-40% of full brightness, which is actually not quite dim enough for where I want it. Very few product descriptions, I have found, are explicit about just how dim a dimmable CFL will actually get. That's unfortunate.

It's frustrating trying to find just the combination I want, especially since "R30" CFLs are just regular coil CFLs in a floodlight enclosure.

2.0 out of 5 stars Some die young..., December 23, 2011
This review is from: Dimmable Mini Compact Fluorescent Light Bulb, 23W (Tools & Home Improvement)
Purchased three of these bulbs (Model BPESL23T/DIM) to use in a dimable chandelier, after about two months one of the bulbs burnt out. At 8+ dollars a piece not sure this is a good solution.

1.0 out of 5 stars Horrible lightbulbs...terrible customer service, October 21, 2008
This review is from: Dimmable Mini Compact Fluorescent Light Bulb, 23W (Tools & Home Improvement)
I have a few dimmable lights in my house and have wanted to use these type bulbs so when I saw these in the store I jumped on them....
Needless to say the out of the first 2 bulbs, on started smelling horribly after 2 days so I removed it and brought it back for an exchange. It took about a month for the other bulb to die. I decided to call the company as I got better life out of all my other bulbs that I bought (energy saver and regular). To make a long story short, they blamed me for the bulb going dead so quickly. I am going to return these to the store and after this experience, will not go anywhere near anything by this company!

If you are looking for energy saving bulbs, we have had great experiences with the NVison ones (we have about 20 in the house and had only one go bad which the company had sent us out a new one within a week).

I purchased a six pack of these bulbs and installed them in a 5 bulb chandelier on a standard dimmer switch. Within the first 2 hours 2 of the bulbs started smoking and died. It is now less than six hours of use and ALL of the bulbs have died.

2.0 out of 5 stars Unreliable CFL bulbs. Do not buy these., July 29, 2009
This review is from: Dimmable Mini Compact Fluorescent Light Bulb, 23W (Tools & Home Improvement)
I bought 6 of these Feit brand bulbs from OSH this weekend. They were price-subsidized by Southern California Edison, so I thought they were a super good deal at $4.50 each. Think again!

4 of the 6 bulbs I bought burned out after 2 days. They looked so nice, until they started smoking. When they fail the lights turn an orange color and release a very weird chemically smelling smoke - it's similar to the smell of chloroseptic spray mixed with melted solder. I installed them just like in the directions, they are supposed to be compatible with modern dimmer switches and standard light fixtures.

Aside from the complete and utter failure of this product, I will say I was surprised by the "whiteness" of the light produced, they look great when you first turn them on. They also switch on fast, and dim very well. Too bad they are not reliable.

To be fair, I called their 1-866 number and they are sending me 4 replacement bulbs no questions. The rep was very polite on the phone. They said that it was likely a defect in the ballasts. I will update my review when I get the replacements - maybe I just got a bad batch of these? There seem to be a lot of similar complaints now that I look at the other Amazon reviews here. I wish I had read these reviews before I invested $30 in this junk!

UPDATE: Feit never sent mailed me my replacement bulbs even though they agreed to do that on the phone. It's now been several months.

UPDATE 2: My replacements did arrive. It took 5 months for them to ship them out.

5.0 out of 5 stars To counter the bad view., June 28, 2009
This review is from: Dimmable Mini Compact Fluorescent Light Bulb, 23W (Tools & Home Improvement)
This is a good bulb. It's warm color is much better than the crappy 32W flurescent round light in my bedroom. It Doesn't smell. It doesn't flicker as it was described in its advertisement. I have been using it for over six months and its great.
