Product Description

Brand new bi color 500 led light panel range 3200-5600K with dimmer switch and V- Mount. These 500 LED video panel uses the 500 ultra bright, 5500K LED's and has an equivalent output of 500 watts of incandescent light yet draws about 100 watts. The 5500K daylight balanced LEDs offer a full spectrum, beautifully soft light.LED lights off significantly further "throw" than a comparable fluorescent light. This is because each of the 1000 LED lights has a 30 degree beam angle lens that directs light forward. This beam angle creates a beam pattern that is useful from 1 - 15 feet.LED lights are ideal for location work because they are virtually shockproof and offer the brightest light in the smallest form factor.

As a pro DP, I purchased this and the larger sized version just to supplement my Pro lights. The larger one is not one I could ever recommend for a variety of reasons but this one was quite a nice surprise. First off, this IS a cheap knock off and the LEDs are not the highest quality - you get what you pay for - I expected that - Minus Green Gel is an absolute requirement every time - I knew that was going to be the case, and it really helps. If you are expecting a super bright light with a long throw - LEDs are not what your looking for - but this one has a nice light output for its size, and its nice to have the BiColor - I wouldnt dim below 50% - with most lower end LEDs - it really changes the light quality - instead just get some Diffusion or ND - when you use it with those things it's surprisingly good. In fact, I use it all the time - It might not be as durable as some of my other lights but with just a little care it is pretty strong and has held up well. I will be purchasing more of these. If your looking for a cheap light that is just as good as the much more expensive ones than this is just like all the others - a little short (let me know if you find one) but if you are looking for a great value on a light that you can make work for you then this might be a good light for you. And USE GEL

this light uses 250 leds for daylight and 250 led for tungsten temperature.
if you wanna feel the light power of 500 leds, you have 3 options
1- buy the version that IS NOT bi-color, then you have all de 500 leds available for use.
2- buy the bi-color 1000, in this case you will have 500 leds for daylight and 500 for tungsten.
3- turn-on the 250 daylight leds an the 250 tungsten leds... but you can imagine that will be difficult to match that temperature with other lights that you may be using in the shot.

This is a great little light. It is well built anddimmable from 10-100%. My only concern is the green spike. I need to put 1/2 magenta(minus green) to take the cast away. After doing that it looks and works well.

The housing is really well constructed and all of the LED's work as well as the dimmers. The problem is that a grid pattern is created by the LED's and is noticeable when filming or in pictures. It may be a desirable affect for some applications but as a main light it was not suitable. The barn doors were reflective with a textured coating. This caused the light to spill out in places I was trying to keep it from going. I'm not sure what they intended this light to be used as.

This Bi-Color beast came in the mail last week, and it can put out some mucho intense light!

The beam is somewhat directional, so you might consider a diffuser or something, but it's worked well for my needs so far. I'll put up some pictures soon, as it doesn't really look like the picture shown. 2 big knobs separately dim the two different colors of LEDs. Good buy!

You'll want to find a sheet of 1/8 minus green color correction gel because this light runs a bit green... but its a heck of a lot cheaper than the pro lights.

They work very well, and the construction/build is quite sturdy. Metal all the way throughout. I love the dual temperature dials in the back -- you can get a cool light on one dial, a warm light on the other, and a blended one with both. Keep in mind that these are LED lights so they are not as bright as halogens, but they are perfect for video or still digital photography. Probably not something you want to use for portraits as a primary light (may work as an accent/fill light).

After much online research, I decided to try a couple of these units as I have V-mount batteries as well as 4-pin XLR battery belts in my inventory. The V-mount batteries last about 2.5 hours at FULL brightness and the belts are around 5 hours. The unit does exhibit the dreaded "green push" on the LED - you get what you pay for - but I have been traveling with minus-green gels (magenta) and am able to mostly offset the green and then do final color correction in post.
