Crazily Addictive,

The game is simple in concept, but it is crazy how addictive it is.
You seat people, take their order, bring them their food, bring them the bill , then clear their table...seems simple enough, until you realize you have to serve multiple tables at once. Doing the same thing at different tables gives you extra chain points. The game gets progressively more challenging, introducing more tables as you go, and also different types of customers. Your reward is to see your run down restaurant get rennovated piece by piece. Definitely a travel friendly game. Do a Google search if you wish to play a limited demo of the game.

Doesn't live up to the Flash version,

I've been playing this Flash version on my PC, and was excited about getting it for my DS. The game play is generally the same as the PC version, with the ever increasing difficulty. Some slight changes, like families, choosing your decor, mopping and customers with reservations...(there are probably others, but I haven't gotten that far yet).
Additionally, for me, there are just some games that don't translate to the "small screen". This is one of those game. Tables seem very close together, you have to use the left arrow on the screen to see the customer waiting line. Overall, I'm glad I bought it as I really like the concept and the "stress" of keeping customers happy.

Diner Dash first achieved notoriety as a flash game, and now it's hit the DS as well. Taking everything that made it enjoyable before, Diner Dash starts out as a blast, but the overall repetitiveness and simplicity are what hurt Diner Dash the most in the long run. Playing as Flo, Diner Dash offers some challenging gameplay as you attempt to run your frequently busy restaurant. However, the game doesn't look quite right squeezed down to the DS' small screen, not to mention offering some slight frame rate issues as well. Not to mention that once you do get through the entire game (and you will) there isn't any reason to go back again. What really saves the DS version of Diner Dash from the scrap heap though are the inventive touch screen and stylus controls that have been implemented, as well as the overly fun and addictive multiplayer options. The good mostly outweighs the bad with Diner Dash, but the worst factor is undoubtedly the fact that you can find this game for the PC for much cheaper than the asking price here. Still though, if you desire Diner Dash on the go, you'll be pretty well satisfied, for a while anyway that is.

Good fun!,

Diner Dash for the Nintendo DS is a fun, challenging game. You can play a Career track, which follows Flo through different restaurants, Endless Shift, where you play until you lose five tables, and multi-player, which is done with another DS-wielding player.
The graphics are bright and clear, the characters have personalities, and the music isn't too bad. I find the gameplay to be somewhat difficult, and I've had to play several levels over and over again before I beat them -- and I'm almost 21. This would be a good game for a kid or an adult. The one unnecessary detail is probably the "customizing" of the restaurant after you complete a level -- you're given the choice to pick between floor and table colors, pillar and door style, etc. While it's cute, your choices don't actually have any real impact on the customers. There's no wrong decision. I give Diner Dash a five for fun. Because it follows a very loose storyline, I'd also give it high marks for replayability. It's addictive, though -- so be warned!

The computer version is a LOT better!,

I have the computer versions of this game and enjoyed them a lot more. This game would've been more fun if the controls weren't so bad. Maybe its just me, but I had the hardest time seating people at the tables. You have to touch and drag them to a table and then release and they should sit down but instead, they would just jump back in line. This happened over and over again until by chance it might work. And also when I would touch a table to clean up, it would instead go to the table next to it. I dont know if its just mine but Im curious to hear what other players are experiencing. I found Cake Mania for DS ten times better than this one.

Diner Dash (Nintendo DS) My 10 year old daughter really enjoys this game. You are the waiter and you take care of the customers and try to keep them happy. It is a lot of fun. It was a good price and came quickly.

As most people discovered this game on the PC so did I. When I found it for the DS I was very happy to buy it for myself and found my 8 year old daughter playing it every chance she could. Each level passed brings you closer to your new restaurant and your eventual Dream Restaurant. Passing enough expert levels unlocks a bonus restaurant as well. It's fun and good for a quick fix when you don't have a lot of time to play a long game.

Agree with other reviewers, this game does not translate well to the small screen of the DS. Also the top screen was virtually not used. It could have been to show customers waiting in line. Though the most frustrating part is if you don't tap exactly where you should, the action doesn't take. On the good side, I can play it when ever I want now, and not just when I am at my Computer!
Overall, just as entertaining as the computer game and just as addicting!

I love this game!! Picked it up used/like new for $[...].....and it was totally worth the $. I like the fact that you can used the LEFT button on your DS to scroll over to the customers waiting in line instead of using the stylus to move over. I found the icons to be nice and big. I LOVE that you can customize your restaurants. Definitely going to keep this game and play again and again. SOOOOO ADDICTIVE!!!! Looking forward to trying Flo on the Go....even with the mixed reviews.
