From School Library Journal
Grade 2-4-These texts provide basic information about each animal, such as where it lives and what it eats. The language is simple enough for newly independent readers, with the few more difficult words ("feral," "continent") highlighted in boldface type and defined in the glossary. All have the same layout-one page of text facing a full-page photo. Occasionally, an additional image appears on the text page. The pictures are clear and attractive and add extra appeal to the books. While the material doesn't go much beyond a basic encyclopedia article, it would be sufficient for a brief report. Browsers, too, will enjoy the illustrations and learning a bit about these animals.
