This is my 2-1/2 year old son's current favorite book. I picked it up at quick glance in a specialty toy store while using up a gift certificate, for the illustrations. Then when we read it together at home, I was just delighted at the creative and humorous writing. It's right up there with Angela Banner's Ant and Bee books - for anyone else out there who remembers these from growing up in the 60's. Also, David Kirk's books are similar in their uniqueness. This is not your average schmaltzy story. It's different.

The board book has no plot. Look, random people! Hey a dinosaur! Look, funny name of town!

Apparently there's a full length children's book that has a plot, but this has no story. Family goes to Africa. Family meets a dinosaur. Family brings dinosaur home. Dinosaur eats a lot. The end.

This little book is my grandchildren's favorite book! I read it to them every time they stay over. I even bought a long neck dinosaur that sits on the bed when we read about Bob.Your kids will love it too.

This is a definite must read. My kids loved this when they were little and still remember it to this day (they are young adults now).

The story has a very whimsical quality with artwork that is a treat for the eye. There is a dry humour that peppers the story as well.

My only dismay is why Pixar hasn't made this one into a movie yet.

Every grown-up and every kid who reads this book loves this book beyond reason! It is a classic. It should be required reading for the entire planet. Praise be to Bob!!
