5.0 out of 5 stars An Excellent Remedy For Frustration On The Job
I first read this book in 1990. Over the years I have given my personal copy to a number of co-workers who were having trouble coping with the workplace. I've had to replace my copy several times because they usually "forgot" to give it back. The chapter on the self-destructive nature of anger has served me well in many situations over the yeas. If you find yourself hating your job, feeling frustrated at work, or you just can't stand someone you work with, give Dinasaur Brains a try. It teaches, with plenty of humor and VERY realistic examples, how to understand what's going on inside those "dinasaur brains" you work with (and your own)

5.0 out of 5 stars Excellent realistic explanations of organizational behavior!, July 30, 1998
By A Customer
The book deals with real life situations at work nobody else in the field dares to touch. The authors attitude towards the tough issues in organizational behavior is naturalistic, professional, humorous and buzzword free. Compuslory reading, especially for a young professional who wants to underderstand the implicit - and thus the strongest - micro-rules driving corporate life.

5.0 out of 5 stars Valuable information about different situations at work, February 10, 1999

The best book about the social things that happen at work I've read so far. Clearly written, based on the simple principles of 'reptile logic'. I use it as my bible.

Ever since I read the 'Emotional Vampires' by the same author, I bought all his books. The author offers very real and practical ways of dealing with the dinosaurs in one's life, including oneself. His secret is in recognizing human/animal nature and offers both insight and strategies for being more effective in the corporate world. The humor just makes it even more enjoyable to read.

Most of our problems in the work are well associated to the other people.

The concept of dinosaur brain and the lizard logic perfectly explain why colleagues, bosses, clients, etc cost us such a hard-time, inefficiencies and countless headaches.

After reading this book, you will not only learn to survive and fight off the dinosaur brains surrounding you but also to recognize your own dinosaur brain and muzzle it to your own advantage.

This book finds the roots of behavior in our ancient animal ancestors. The reasons for dominance behavior become clear, and ways are suggested to mitigate that behavior. My favorite is "Never reason with an angry boss. He isn't listening." I've recommended the book to many people.

5.0 out of 5 stars We all must rise above our own Dino Brain, October 5, 2010
This review is from: Dinosaur Brains: Dealing with All THOSE Impossible People at Work (Paperback)

Timeless book that I had read years ago, then "loaned' out and never saw again.

Had to buy again for a very needed reminder.

Title sounds silly, however this is not your typical self help info;

Enjoy................

5.0 out of 5 stars Didn't dinosaurs go extinct?, June 30, 2009
This review is from: Dinosaur Brains: Dealing with All THOSE Impossible People at Work (Paperback)
This book is full of good ideas on how to deal with the Machiavellis, Himmlers, and Genghis Khans at work. Especially note worthy is how to handle anger. "The more visibly angry someone is, the less likely he or she will be able to respond rationally". Usually the person with the coolest head prevails.
