Product Description

Product Description

Based on the Disney animated movie of the same name, Dinosaur takes place during a prehistoric cataclysm and follows orphaned dinosaur Aladar and his five friends as they make their way through 27 levels of action and puzzle solving. To help them escape volcano fires, rescue stranded babies, and battle carnivorous enemies, you'll need them to all work together and use their various strengths. Aladar, for example, can push things with his bulk, Emma the styracosaur is best at knocking down boulders, Url's spinning attack can save the herd from velicoraptors, and Pilo the lemur can leap across chasms. Through teamwork, members of this dinosaur family help each other surmount the obstacles to make it to their new home. Best of all, with the separately sold Game Boy printer you can print pictures of your favorite dinosaurs in the herd.

Product Description

Travel back to prehistoric times, with Disney's DINOSAUR for the Game Boy Color. Loosely based on the computer-animated feature film, players will have to guide Aladar the Iguanadon, Zini the Lemur, and Flia the Pteranodon through 12 different levels, using each of their unique abilities to overcome obstacles and defeat enemies. Aladar's strength and brute force are great assets, but there are times when the smaller, quicker Zini will need to take over. Neither of them will do you any good if a situation calls for the ability to fly, though so it's a good thing Flia is with you on this adventure. Learning to use each of these characters to overcome obstacles is the key to avoiding extinction! With video taken directly from the film and an encyclopedia covering all the creatures in the game, Disney's DINOSAUR will immerse players in a world that existed millions of years ago.

4.0 out of 5 stars Pretty good, so far, June 15, 2000

This is a prelim. review because we just got the game. At first it's a little frustrating because each character has special abilities, so you need the book with you to remember what each of them does. It's a little awkward trying to get the big dinosaurs to maneuver in small areas - like to pick up flowers or get around an obstacle. So far, both my 10-yr old and I (her mom) like it.

5.0 out of 5 stars Cool Game! :), November 7, 2001
A Kid's Review
This review is from: Dinosaur (Game Cartridge)
This game was the first one that I got for my new Game Boy Color. The first few levels can be a bit frustrating, because you don't have all of the charecters, but once you get past level 5(which shouldn't take long)you'll feel better. I would reccomend this game most to kids at least 10 years old. Why? My sister, who is 8, has a bit of trouble playing.
This game is great for those who love adventure, have an intrest in dinosaurs, or just those who want to have FUN!

2.0 out of 5 stars Dino-Bore!, December 29, 2000

I should have known better than to expect greatness from this title, but I bought it anyway. What a lame game! The graphics aren't very good and the sprites are so small you can barely tell them apart. I mean these are suppposed to be dinosaurs and they're the size of ants! And what's with all the monkeys anyway? This game is called dinosaur, but half your team is monkeys! On top of that, the control is really bad too. You have to eat these flowers for power ups by walking over them and even though you swear you walked over it you won't pick it up! I like the idea of having to use different dinos for different tasks but not when I have to travel all over the place looking for a special dot to do so. And not when the tasks are running, climbing, pushing and roaring (!?). Again these are supposed to be dinos, so why can't they all run, push and roar ( I can understand climbing)? Seems to me like they just wanted to cash in on the license.

Disney is putting some really top notch games out for the GBC right now (Alice in Wonderland, Jungle Book, Lion King), but unfortunately this is not one of them. Only get this game if you like to be annoyed.
