Smaller than a standard shade,

This lamp shade is not a standard size. It will be too small for a standard sized light bulb. We have a mini compact fluorescent bulb and the top of the bulb is at the top of the shade. The shade is teetering precariously because the metal ring is too small to fit as it's supposed to on the lamp. If the ring fit as it's supposed to, the bulb would stick out the top of the shade. Otherwise this lamp shade is good quality and was packaged appropriately, unlike the matching clothes hamper which broke in shipping.
