This was one of the best books I have ever purchased off of Amazon.com. I've always wanted to sculpt, esspecially dinosaurs and other prehistoric animals. Dinosaur Sculpting provides all the information you'll ever need to perfect this beautiful art. Many beautiful sculptures thrive through out the book, which inspire and amaze you. This sculpting guide has lead me into sculpting, and soon, I may even make a business off of it, all thanks to Dinosaur Sculpting. I have not one single complait on this book. I encourage many, if interested in sculpting, to get this book. It could open up a whole new world.

While I'll agree that it is the first of it's kind, the book is lacking.

It goes throught the history of dinosaur sculpting which is very informative, but the rest of it leaves you wondering - wondering what happens next. As shown in the old cartoon with the two mathematicians and the huge formula on the blackboard. In the center of the big equation it says "Then a miracle occurs." Thats what happens here.

They show armature and applying the clay, then they show terrific examples of their work. Huh? What happened in the middle? How did they get from "A" to "C". Obviously "B" was left out. They show you how to do it, but they don't show you how it's done.

Nowadays there are better sculpting tutorials on the net for free. Basically every sculpt is just armature, and clay. It's just a matter of what you do with the clay.

Sadly, this book could have been much better.

I enjoyed reading " Dinosaur Sculpting " and consider it to be well worth the purchase price.

Using informative text and a wealth of B & W photographs Bob Morales walks the reader through creating polymer clay dinosaurs.

Whether your a beginner or an experienced sculptor I think you'll find Mr. Morales' work quite inspirational! I know I did.

There's no better way to enjoy Paleoart than through making your own paleoart, and in "Dinosaur Sculpting" the authors rely on their own experiences in providing the inspirational means for readers to make their own dinosaur sculptures. Using inspirational tones & an amazing array of wonderful in-progress photos, they demystify & simplify what might otherwise appear to be very difficult and challenging tasks. Very nice presentation throughout & my hardy compliments to the authors!

Dinosaur Sculpting is the first & best book ever written providing firsthand, user-friendly tips on how to sculpt your own original dinosaurs and other prehistoric animals using Super Sculpey. It is lavishly presented with numerous photos, including many in-progress shots so readers can readily comprehend what they need to see in order to make their own original sculptures. All the steps from armature-making through body detail work are covered, and the book's tone is both inspiring and enjoyable. "Dinosaur Sculpting" is a very readable account and the text also offers a well-written contemporary view on the history of paleosculpture. This is a 'must' for all beginning paleo-sculptors! Authors Allen A. Debus, Diane Debus, and Bob Morales offer one hundred pages of confidence-building fun appropriate for young adults or older readers!
