I ordered this book because I knew the author and couldn't believe that he wrote a book. I didn't know what to expect as I only really knew him to be a song/poetry writer. I'll be honest... I was completely amazed. I read a lot. This book was written better than most I have read. Mr. J. Rock has captured the questions most of us may have had as kids... what would the world be like if dinosaurs still exhisted? The book is not completely about dinosaurs... although you do get a really good feel for what happens when they evolve alongside humans... they can speak, communicate, although some are still barbarak... it also focuses on the challenges of the main characters in quite great detail... you really feel like you know them well... they all have had obstacles in their pasts that have made them stronger and more courageous in the present of the story. There are so many twists and turns, never a dull moment... very graphic. He has written the surroundings so clearly, you can picture a land that you have never seen or imagined before... and it's incredible. This book would make an awesome movie. I would say Avatar had a really cool background... this book makes Avatar look like a regular world in comparison. I honestly could not put this book down. The day I received this book and it's almost 600 pages, I had read it in completion within four days! There was excitement at every turn. I cannot wait for the second installment of this triology. I would definitely recommend this book! I am actually going to read it again!
