Dinosaurian info in a small package,
By The Eye "<O>" (Northern Hemisphere) - See all my reviews
This review is from: Dinosaurs (Golden Guide) (Paperback)
Like nearly every Golden Guide I own, "Dinosaurs" is a pleasure to peruse. The price is right too. This little book is informative and the illustrations that adorn its wee pages are a visual treat. The sections about dentation and bone structure are particularly interesting (although the part about carnivore dentation (pages 68 and 69) is a bit confusing; two head drawings clearly representing one type of dinosaur are shown, but each drawing is attributed to a different dinosaur. Does the head belong to a Tyrannosaurus or Allosaurus? I vote for the T-Rex.). If you love dinosaurs and want to learn more about them, Golden Guide's "Dinosaurs" is a good place to start.

I loved this Golden Guide book growing up, and now am excited to share it with my children. I really enjoyed the explanation of the science of paleontology. The only reason I didn't give it five stars is that the information is from the 1990s. So much has happened in the field since then that it really needs an update. Still a great book for starting out with dinosaurs - recommended.
