How do Dinosaurs Say Good Night 14" by Merry Makers

This item is a plush toy, as the title says, not the book, as the reviews and product description previously implied. Which is fine with me, because we wanted the plush toy to accompany a bunch of the books we are giving our son for Christmas. Obviously, the books are fantastic, which is why we wanted the stuffed dino to go with it.

However, let it be noted that this toy is NOT suitable for children under, say, 24 months, as the teddy bear the dino holds is very small and not very well-secured. The Merry Makers manufacturer site says "appropriate for children 6 mos. to 6 years." No, this is not true. The teddy bear is an obvious choking hazard for infants and young toddlers, and the blanket is somewhat questionable too. However, we resolved this problem for gifting the item to our 9 mo. son by simply snipping the threads that attach these items (they are secured by only 2 stitches or so) and removing them. Now it is just a really soft dino that looks just like those in his favorite book series. The color is more of a greenish-gray than the color displayed here (it looks like a muddled gray on my monitor).

The plush is self-standing and its eyes are embroidered, rather than beads (good for my son's curious fingers). This toy is nice and soft, no scratchy or stiff parts, but nothing exceptional as far as plush dinos go. This is most suited to a child that really enjoys the Jane Yolen "How Do Dinosaurs...?" book series.

I've purchased two of these now as gifts. Each child loved it. Both boys bwtween two and three yrs of age, and no one chewed the teddy out of his arms and choked on it. Both kids love to snuggle up with it. Love it. This is probably now my #1 'go to gift' for little boys.

This was a gift for a little boy of a friend. I purchased this to go along with the book. He really liked it. It was well made and I was not afraid to give it to him for fear of swallowing small parts.
