A Dinosaur Book For Christians,
This review is from: Dinosaurs for Kids (Hardcover)
Geared toward children ages 5-11, this is a beautiful book about dinosaurs written from a creationist point of view. It has great pictures that any child would enjoy and explains how fossils are formed, how scientists guess what a dinosaur might have looked like based on the fossils, and what may have happened to cause the dinosaurs to become extinct. Most kids like dinosaurs so this book is one more resource for them to learn more.
Those from a Christian mindset and creation view will be most appreciative of this book. Evolutionists and non-Christians will not agree with the premise that the Earth is thousands of years old instead of millions, and will likely not agree with the idea of creation as described in the Bible regardless if it is presented as a theory or fact. I make the distinction because those of the latter mindset will likely be disappointed by the content of the book although I think everyone would agree the pictures are awesome.

My daughter bought this book with some money she received for her birthday. This book is beautifully done ,and well written. It shows the creationist view on dinosaurs, which is exactly what my family believes in.

This book gives parents the option to teach children the biblical truth about dinosaurs and the beginning of the world versus the constant secular misinformation they are always hearing. While my children (5&7) like this book I think it is geared to slightly older children

This book is a must for a child's library. Particularly a child who, like most, is fascinated by dinosaurs. I wish this book had been in print when I was a kid, but better late than never. Secularists have used dinosaurs to promote lies to children about origins for years, so this book which presents the dinosaurs in a way that is true to the evidence in the fossil record is a gem. It's nice to read a book that doesn't ignore facts and replace them with opinions as most dinosaur themed books do. Too often we see secular science ignore truth so that they spew their dogma in hopes of indoctrinating youth into believing the lie of molecules to man evolution. Thanks to Ken Ham for telling the true story!

Some wash this up as propaganda and brainwashing, but fail to ask themselves am I really brainwashing my kid with evolution (a science that is being continually unproven). Most buy into the status-quo without actually questioning what they believe or trying to understand the other side of the argument. The best way to approach this book is objectively, and, if at all possible, without any presuppositions. And if you don't believe that the research has been done, you don't realize who is on the Answers in Genesis staff ([...] will provide this information) nor do you realize that creationists are real scientists ([...] provides a list of other real scientists). Obviously, the target market is aimed for Christians, but this book can be used to provide another look a paleontology. Yes, with the 7 F's of history, and the constant rhetoric of thousands not billions and fact not fiction, this book pins itself in a hole. It's pretty much wagging its finger at evolutionists while saying you're wrong we're right. However, the science does back it up. While Ken's delivery needs work, his team has done a fantastic job in telling us about various facts about dinosaurs in this book. And this book is definitely a conversation piece.

From A Biblical Perspective,

I recently purchased Ken Ham's "Dinosaurs for Kids" with the intent of donating it to the church library. My son, like so many others his age, are fascinated with dinosaurs. Finding a book on this topic written from a Biblical perspective is difficult.
The illustrations in the book are well done and most of the information is great. With that said, I would like to mention that I struggled with some of Ken Ham's theology of creation. First, we cannot know if God's time is the same as our time. Is one day to God (the Alpha and Omega & the God of all eternity) measured the same as a 24 hour stretch to us? God is certainly capable, but it is entirely possible that dinosaurs were created millions of years before humans. Secondly, Ken Ham compares evolution to the creation story, stating that evolution is incorrect. I believe that God created the world and everything in it, but I also believe that creatures change (or evolve) to survive in their environment. Perhaps, some parts (not all) of Darwin's theory were correct. I have a hard time teaching children that evolution is not true, when they see it happening around them in nature. With that said, I decided not to use it in our church library. Instead, I'll save it for my kids and explain that there is a lot about dinosaurs that we don't know and this book is the author's interpretation.

If you want to present to you child lies and fallacies then by all means get this book. If you want to talk dinosaurs, then a creationist's drivel is not where to start. This book is full of lies. Plain and simple. Even knowing and admitting that there were dinosaurs on the Earth means that we go back in time way more than 6,000 years as religion tells us. Dinosaurs are millions of years old. It's proven and cannot be denied. All I hear from so called Creationists is made up stories about how they want to fit reality into their narrow-minded view of reality. If you want to lie to your children so they can be raised "in the Truth", then go ahead, pick it up this book, give it great reviews, but it is very much in contrast to the reality of what we know about them.
