Kindergarten-Grade 3—In this humorous look at evolution, Prap makes the case that all modern-day birds, including chickens, are descended from dinosaurs. The book's illustrations are fun and well-laid-out, and the witty text is chock-full of information. A group of chickens makes snarky comments about their disparate relatives ("We never had such strange-looking types in our family!") and side notes provide interesting details about the "terrible lizards." Dino lovers will clamor for this title.—Katie Cerasale-Messina, AC Whelan Elementary School, Revere, MA
