Editorial Reviews

Discover the startling facts and dramatic new theories currently revolutionizing our understanding of some ot he largest, most ferocious animals ever to walk the Earth, in THE DINOSAURS! Banishing the once-accepted image of cold-blooded brutes plodding toward extinction, tantalizing new findings now show that some dinosaurs were intensely active, fleet-footed hunters; others were devoted, family-rearing parents; and, most heretical of all, warm-blooded!

5.0 out of 5 stars Dino--mite!, November 23, 1999
As a high school earth science teacher, I found this video and the others in this PBS series to be excellent. In this video, viewers are given a glimpse back to the first discoveries of dinosaur fossils and how the scientists of the time viewed them, explained them and tried to put them together. It ends at the time when dinosaur eggs are found in China. I particulary like this series because it shows real scientists doing real work. There is some animation to give the viewer an idea of how the dinosaurs might have moved, looked and behaved as well as clips from very old movies taken at dig sites. Scientists currently working in the field are used as narrators and do an excellent job of making geologic time more real.
