Dinotopia is a solid, nonviolent adventure game based on the books by James Gurney. It is an interactive world full of art, science, and invention. This 2D animated point-and-click recreation lets you play as Nathan, a young man who has been separated from his twin sister Constance as the result of a shipwreck. Dolphins have rescued the pair and transported them to the island. The game is an exploration of the world of Dinotopia and visits many of the areas--Waterfall City, Treetown, the World Beneath--made popular in the books. There are over 130 characters with whom to interact. The player must learn the language and alphabet of Dinotopia in addition to solving audio and visual puzzles. As the game progresses in difficulty, the younger gamer may find the going thorny, but this is a game that parents will enjoy sharing with their children.

Dinotopia is an adventure game designed primarily for children which is based upon the books "Dinotopia" and "The World Beneath" by James Gurney.

Players take the role of Nathan Drake, a shipwreck survivor. The major objective is to find Nathan's sister, Constance, who he hopes also survived and washed up elsewhere on the island.

In Dinotopia, dinosaurs are intelligent and speak their own language, which Nathan must learn in order to communicate with them. As he explores the island, he will be doing tasks for the dinosaurs and other humans, picking up inventory objects and solving simple puzzles.

The game is ranked Number 9 in 'The 10 Best Adventure Games That (Almost) No One Has Ever Played' by respected website 'Just Adventure'.
