Let this be your first or, if absolutely necessary, your only Dionne Warwick album! It has most of her signature songs from her collaboration with Burt Bacharach and Hal David. This is classic Warwick...deceptively simple lyrics delivered in near whispers or soaring crescendos. If you were young in the 70's you need to listen to these songs again. If you discovered Bacharach in Austin Powers or My Best Friend's Wedding then you owe it to yourself to hear the incomparable beauty of that team's best work...Anyone Who Had a Heart...Alfie... Walk On By...A House Is Not a Home.... it just doesn't get any better.

I forgot how good the Bachrach music was! He was a master.
Of course, his music is accompanied by Dionne Warwick's beautiful voice. I only wish the recording of the CD was a little better - it sounds a little shallow so I put it on full bass to get a better sound.....

Of all the wonderful Dionne Warwick compilations on the market, this is my favorite. All of the hits from the 60's are here in chronological order from her first hit, "Don't Make Me Over" and ending with her big 1969 hit, "I'll Never Fall In Love Again". In addition to the well known numbers, such as "Alfie", "I Say A Little Prayer", and "Walk On By", this CD contains Dionne's classic renditions of "A House Is Not A Home" and "You'll Never Get To Heaven". Also included is "I Just Don't Know What To Do With Myself" which wasn't a big hit for Dionne, but should have been.

The only glaring omissions are the top 10 "This Girl's In Love With You" and Dionne's breathtakingly understated reading of the Jerry Butler hit "Make It Easy On Yourself". However, as both of these recordings are readily available on other compilations, there is no reason to avoid this CD.

If you are a Dionne Warwick fan, you will love this CD. If you have never experienced Dionne at her very best, this CD is a great place to start.

While some songs are awkward with previous stereo mixes (Dionne's vocals are to the far left/right), overall, I think the sound is impressive. It would have benefited to be digitally enhanced. Listening through headphones, when the unexpected chimes started chiming in "You'll Never Get To Heaven (If You Break My Heart)", and sort of scared me, that alone tells me it's a decent rendition, though not a true Remaster (lacks remixing). Mainly her Scepter Records material with Top 40 Hits and a couple misses. Recommended.

This one truly merits the 5 star rating, with no exaggeration. Warwick's collaborations with the superior team of Bacharach and David are deservedly legendary. This match made in heaven, is presented here in a concise collection, with the added bonus of superior remastered sound. I have these tunes on several compilations. These are by far, the finest remasterings of them available. A complete bargain, perhaps even a steal at this price. RUSH TO BUY IT NOW.

It's a must have album with great songs and Ms. Warwick was great!! You cannot go wrong in puchasing this album. I am re-living this great music of the 60's and 70's. It's a winner!

Haven't listened to Dionne Warwick since 8-track days (don't laugh). Loved her then, and now feel a renewed interest. Will probably purchase a couple more of her CDs in the future.

Bought this for my wife, who is a big fan of her earlier stuff. She said it is the best compilation she's listened to. All is good.
