Seriously: If you're a REAL hip hop fan (yes, I know that's an extremely subjective statement), STEER CLEAR OF THIS DULL, BLAND, UNINSPIRING AND OFTEN MONOTONOUS GARBAGE! Most of the people reviewing this album must be newbie Diplomats listeners, because CLEARLY, the first "Diplomatic Immunity" double disc album is LIGHT YEARS AHEAD OF THIS GARBAGE!!! I couldn't believe my boy Cam'ron allowed this crap to be released! In actuality, it doesn't suck (although it's on the verge). For newcomers to the Dipset, this album may be aiight, but for those of us who've been down with the Dipset far longer know better.

The music on this album is sooo weak compared to other Diplomats records it's ridiculous. Part of the reason for this lackluster disc is formulas that worked on the last album are nonexistent here. The Heatmakerz (who do most of Dipset's production) should've been employed more heavily on this album, instead of these Z-list cats who handle most of the lackluster production. And the most noticeable difference between this one and the last album is the fourfold grouping of Cam, Juelz, Jones, and Zeekey is gone (Zeekey which is understandable because he's locked up), for some ignorant cats who can barely spit. An example of this is the moron 40 Cal who gets the first verse on the song "Family Ties." Before he spits, he says, "...I'm the nicest, n***a, I'm tired of provin the sh**..." -- MAAAAAAAAAAAAAN PLEASE!!! People: Mr. Cal talks that nonsense, and has has some nerve doin it, spittin the CRAP he does on his verse! Son drops one the dumbest, wackiest, weakest similie/metaphors I've ever heard! He goes: "...y'all cats are like 14 days/too weak for me..." LOL! I can't tell you how loud I laughed upon my first listen of that nonsense! Cam'ron: you're my boy, I love you man, but where in the WORLD did you get this group of below-average outcasts?! Dog, you definitely should've saved your money and invested in either something or someone else!!!

I read online once that the brother duo from London S.A.S. ("Dutty Clap," "So Free") sound like some thick-tongued Jim Joneses who have speech impediments - this couldn't be further from the truth. The annoying as hell Jha Jha ("Get From Round Me") is going to make you want to smack her - listen to her voice and lazy flow and see what I mean! In regards to the latter sentence, I suppose NY cats haven't realized yet that when they try to do southern sounding tracks it comes off wack - leave the southern sound to us who live down here. Even Killa Cam's verses aren't his sharpest on this album (although Cam's no Canibus himself). Juelz' solo, "S.A.N.T.A.N.A.," (with the periods in between the letters of Santana, I'm guessing it's supposed to be an acronym standing for something) has to be the worst implementation of sped up vocals in hip hop history.

POTENTIAL BUYERS BEWARE!!! Most of these previous reviewers giving the joint 4 and 5 stars are OUT OF THEIR MINDS!!! DON'T BELIEVE THE HYPE! Your hard-earned dollars are better off being spent on joints like the first Diplomats double-disc street classic, Cam's incredible "Purple Haze," the highly slept-on "From Me To U" by Santana, or even some of the on point Diplomats mixtapes. BUY NEW OR USED AT YOUR OWN RISK!!!

2.0 out of 5 stars is that all??, November 23, 2004
This review is from: Diplomatic Immunity II (Audio CD)
To call this cd a disappointment is an undertstatement, the whole cd seems thrown together with half-a** production and lyrics. Of course it was unrealistic for me to expect the same quality as the 1st diplomatic immunity, but damn.....i guess i'll half to wait for cam's cd for redemption. i guess thats why this cd wasn't on roc-a-fella

1.0 out of 5 stars Will trade my copy for a boiled egg!!!, December 5, 2004

What the hell was this? I mean seriously, what was this? I am one who holds it down for the Byrd Gang but this was an absolute DISGRACE!!!!! I mean I can't tell you how BAD this was. I have about twenty Dip Set mixtapes which I got for $5 and any of those was ten times better than this. And to top it off, the last four songs on this GOD-AWFUL project appear elsewhere. Three on the mix tapes (Which are sold by Dip Set themselves, not bootlegs. If you don't believe me go to the web-site on their CD and you will see) and they recycled those songs and put them on here. Songs I heard OVER A YEAR AND A HALF AGO!!! Summer 2003 I heard these tracks!!! Get in the damn studio Doggy!!!! And the last song on the album was on Jim Jones album which was 100 times better than this crap. I am sooooo mad I wasted my money on recycled music and an attempt to piggy back their new artists who will NEVER, and I mean NEVER sell a copy. Lets face it, outside of Cam, Jim Jones, Santana, and to a lesser extent J.R. Writer (Who disappointed me on this album after doing the damn thing on his own street mix-tape) and Un Kasa (Who's appearance is all of TWO LINES on the entire album!!), the rest of these guys [....]!! Hell Rell, every once and a while he puts together a good 16 but for the most part he drops corny punch lines and is a watered down mixture of Cam and Writer. 40 cal?? Who the hell is this clown? How did he get a deal? Has the NERVE to say he's the best on this album, he should be slapped!! And those two cats got solo tracks on this!!! Those were absolute THROW AWAYS!!! If I got this album on the ave for $5 I would not have liked this. The first Diplomatic Immunity was hot because it was all Cam, Juelz, and and Jim Casa (Jim Jones for the non-street literate). This was a disaster. Needless to say I will not be purchasing volume three. I will stick to the $5 mom and pop specials. I hope whoever got the checks for this album invests well because they won't be around long putting out nonsense like this. I was gonna buy Purple Haze, but after this, I'M GOOD HOMEY!!! I'll keep bumping Streets Disciple. Any one song on that is better than this entire project. Killa Cam, I'm nicknaming this album Killa Scam. I got did dirty along with whoever bought this. My advice, get your five and head to the ave. Save your money, you get half of this album on the mix-tapes anyway....

3.0 out of 5 stars Goonie goo-goo's !!! ( 3.5 ), December 20, 2004

This review is from: Diplomatic Immunity II (Audio CD)
I'm surprised with some of the reviews I've read. I mean I know people are entitled to their own opinions, but I just don't understand some of you. Grant it...this album is nowhere near The Dips debut album, HOWEVER, it is a strong album. People complaining about Cams lyrical abilities, NEWSFLASH, he's been slipping ! This is nothing new ! Ever since he changed his flow about 2 years ago ( to the choppy, slow-mo rap ), he's been slowly spiraling down. Jim Jones, though much imprpoved, was NEVER a lyrical genius nor will he ever be. Santana is Camron's mini-me, so you shouldn't expect too much from him either ( he has potential though ). With that said, you have to accept all those things and lower your expectations a bit. The Dips make their kind of music! You can't expect them to sound like anything else. They're music is NYC's ( Harlem in particular ) equavilent to dirty south's crunk music. Thats what they do, and thats what they're good at. Also...you can't expect a person/groups sophomore album to sound like their debut album. Thats just crazy ! Anyway...I felt this was a strong album ! I know what to expect ( lyrically ) from the Ghoonies, and the production was decent. Some of my favorite tracks are : Take em to church, Crunk muzik, and Get used to this. Just rember yo...these are not political or conscious rappers. Heatmakerz ( though VERY talented ) are NOT Kanye West, Just Blaze, or 9th Wonder. Get used to it ! DIPSET BI*CH !!

This cd is ok it has alot of old songs, but there are some really goos singles such as "S.A.N.T.A.N.A","Push It","Take em to Church","Crunk Muzik",and "Bigger Picture".This cd is subpar compared to the first one.It is good in showcasing the rest of the dipset fam besides cam, juelz, and jones.

4.0 out of 5 stars A Movement..., February 10, 2005
This review is from: Diplomatic Immunity II (Audio CD)
Im honest 2 tha punch, this isnt the best diplomats album, but it definatley has some cold lyricists on it: S.A.S., Santana, Jim Jones, JR Writer, and of course, Killa Cam. Stop-N-Go, Crunk Muzik, and So Free are my current favorites. Hear it b4 you buy it, some people dont really like this album, but I stay loyal to Dipset.

5.0 out of 5 stars Hot Album, but just like purple haze., January 29, 2005
By
A Williams "Ant" (somewhere, nj, usa) - See all my reviews
This review is from: Diplomatic Immunity II (Audio CD)
1. Stop-N-Go-The Intro song on this album. features most of the Diplomats.

2. S.A.N.T.A.N.A.-the hit song on the album, got no radio airplay but haters shouldnt hate on Juelz cuz this song is hot.

3. Take Em To Church-A Mase diss. Also featured on Purple Haze, has the same beat as the Purple Haze version, but mixed differently, you gotta hear it.

4. Get Use To This-A hot song from JR Writer, who will be the future of Dipset.

5. Family Ties-this is the version with no hook, excluding Nicole Wray. Just features some of the diplomats on there spitting rhymes over the beat and then camron's verse is in the middle. a song that sounds like a freestyle.

6. Wouldn't You Like To Be A Gangsta Too-Hell Rell's only solo song on the album, has a nice hook.

7. Get From Round Me-song featuring Diplomats first lady, Jha Jha. She raps like Trina or the girl Diamond or Princess from Crime Mob. I'm sure shes from the south like Florida or ATL.

8. Dutty Clap-kinda like a country song. features Jim Jones and London's own S.A.S.

9. I Wanna Be Your Lady-a remake of SoSoDef's I Wanna be your lady. A classic 90's hit remade my dipset. actually sounds good.

10. 40 Cal-features 40 cal., a new member of dipset. he has nice punchlines.

11. Melalin-features a rapper named Bugs (not to be confused with the deceased rapper from D-12) he is with Diplomats and is one of the newest members.

12. So Free-Another song with S.A.S. Also has Cam'ron on there. S.A.S. bring their English accents with them to record a good song. they are signed to diplomats/rocafella records.

13. Dead-Cam'ron & Juelz, the best duo of the diplomats make another hit.

14. Push It-remake of the Salt n Pepa song "Push It". The same beat, nothing different, could of had better lyrics.
15. Aayo-Iight-boring hook but catchy beat.

16. Bigger Picture-the best song with Camron and Juelz Santana. I'd give it a 5 Stars. Cam'ron says: "It's been great Dame, My B**** is a great Dame, my dog is a Great Dane............."I dont care where u been to or what jail, so go tell Disney and all your F***in Ducktales". The Best on the CD.

17. Crunk Muzik-Just another hit on the album. Also on the Jim jones album. Has some strange lyrics. Juelz, Jimmy, and Cam all killed it on the song. it was great.

This album is good, even though Diplomatic Immunity 2 wasnt under Rocafella Records, because they made a switch to Koch. This album is just as good as the first, but alot different.

I have never heard any of the Diplomats music before but i knew some stuff about them and knew they were supposed to be a great rap group. They have some of the best beats ive heard in awhile and some of them can rap.I dont see y everyone is giving this cd a bad review because it isn't that bad.I guess most of u aren't into there more hardcore type of rap.But this is a great cd with a lot of hot tracks.
