Excellent Product,
By Notmy Realname (Los Angeles, CA United States) - See all my reviews It comes with a 250GB hard drive, and you can find instructions online to replace with 2 larger drives. I replaced with 2 X 750GB = 1500GB storage. (Note: if you want to replace the drive, make sure you buy drives with the correct interface, I *think* this uses IDE) The one downside is that it's not compatible with the new HD satellites, so it can't receive all HD channels available. DirecTV called us and wanted to replace this unit with a newer model (HR21 I think), but based on reviews I decided to keep my HR10-250.

Amazing device,

It took me years to catch on to the TiVo thing... and just as DirecTV was killing it off in favor of their junky HD-DVR I got one, plus one for my Dad and girlfriend. Wow. And when hacked they are about 8 million times cooler still, to quote a forum geek.

This review is from: DirecTV TIVO HR10-250 HD-DVR Receiver (Electronics)
Purchasing this item was a risk that only got more complicated as things evolved. The seller was helpful but purchasing this product was a mistake!
