This is a fascinating true-life story of a seemingly ordinary middle-class woman growing up in suburban Philadelphia who gradually discovers her mystical and spiritual side. At first repressing highly unusual experiences, she gradually accepts her "transformed consciousness" and greatly expands her knowledge through teachers, travel, books, and meditative visions. Dr. Miller eventually realizes the enormous value of the "direct connection" for all of mankind. Readers who accompany Dr. Miller along this incredible jouney will experience a sense of comfort and joy when they realize that the spiritual path is open to everyone. This knowledge is exactly what our bruised and battered world needs.

Dr. Judith Miller's gripping journey from a traditionally trained therapist to essentially what she calls herself now, a mystic, is enlightening and thought provoking all at the same time. It's the kind of book in which the reader has trouble putting it down. I believe anyone who reads the book will be transformed subtlely in ways that can be described in three steps: 1) one begins to remember instances in which coincidences had occurred yet a feeling inside knew it was more; 2) if one pays more attention they'll begin to realize that such occurrences have always been going on, and it is society that has called them pure happenstances without explanation; and 3) fear will settle in, and one might begin to think he/she is crazy if she begins to experience some of the more paranormal stages that Judith Miller traveled through. Dr. Miller's book is probably most important to that one person who needed validation of his/her experiences and found them in Direct Connection.

Never before has spirituality and psychology been so compatible and accessible. This book has opened my eyes and has allowed me to find new meaning in my life. This is truly one of the most important books I have ever read. Those who read this extraordinary book will never forget Dr. Miller.
