A solid revision of a very useful textbook and clinical practice resource. Numerous typographical and typesetting errors will annoy those who expect more from the publishers of this social work classic, who appear to have rushed publication. Infotrac has only marginal value to working professionals and no value for enrolled students with library access. Wait for the second printing or stick with the 5th edition if you can.

This book is compact with great information :) It's laid out nicely so it's easy to follow. The only down fall is there are some phrases that aren't explained well (i.e. additive empathy) but are used regularly. Overall, a good textbook for beginners :)

This is an excellent introduction to social work practice with many useful tips on individual, family and group assessment and intervention. I highly recommend this book. But it really is too bad and sad that they have decided to cut a chapter (chapter14 of the sixth edition) on problem solving, assertiveness and stress management.

I had this book last semester as a MSW student at WVU. I have found it useful as a resource guide for my current practice as a family-based therapist as well. I would recommend this book to all those out there in practice.

This textbook is not the most thrilling read of a lifetime, but its also not difficult. Somestimes the organization is a little odd, but it could be worse.
If its not required, I wouldn't buy it.

The book was in great condition, and it was the best offer. Trust me i researched everywhere!!! The seller mailed the book right away...i couldn't be any happier.

This text is a great book to review assessment skills. I didn't want to return mine to the books store so I decided to buy me one to keep. I will reference back to this book, I'm sure.

I ordered the book on 8.29.09, on 9.30.09 I received an email indicating that the book may have got lost in the mail. DO YOU THINK AFTER 5 WEEKS? I was under the impression that I should have received the book in 3- 5 business days. Not 5 weeks. I emailed the company several times in between and the company just brushed me off. Do not order anything from this company. I needed the book for class, as a result I had to go to the library to use the copy that was on reserve. The company displayed horrible customer service skills and waited until the bitter end to acknowledge their error.

Great value for the money, but the text is def dry. I'm beginning to think all graduate school texts are though...

I received my book in the condition and time limit as promised! very happy with this seller.
