The FMSC1 significantly advances the user interface and overall functionality as compared to its predecessor the SIRIUS STARBASE. The product's basic function is to add SIRIUS capability to vehicles that lack a satellite-ready factory radio. Thesystem provides display & control of the SIRIUS satellite radio content via a compact Display Control Unit (DCU) that can be flush or surface mounted in a vehicle interior. The compact audio module connects the DCU with the SCC1 SiriusConnect Vehicle Tuner or a docked Plug & Play radio (each sold separately), and provides analog RCA as well as FM modulatedoutputs for connection to the host system or the system's amplifier(s). 'The FMSC1 DCU makes use of the large 5 line blue-backlit LCD from the top- selling Starmate 4 dock-and-play radio, combined with the user-friendly rotary knob navigation control familiar to owners of the popular Sportster 4. With a media player or other sound source connected to the selectable AUX IN, Preamp Mode allows the system to function as a fully digital software-based sound source.The DCU also supports direct channel navigation via 10 key preset buttons. That, combined with the rotary channel navigation control, provides the ultimate user-friendly satellite radio interface. The result is an installed system with all the best features of the most popular SIRIUS dock-and-play radios.The audio module of the FMSC1 features analog RCA outputs to connect to aux inputs for maximum flexibility, as well as a separate FM modulated output with supplied FM relay, for optimal audio quality with source units that lack an auxiliary input.
