Editorial Reviews

Amazon.com Review

Director 6 for Macintosh offers beginning and intermediate computer users a useful introduction to the Mac version of Macromedia's Director 6 multimedia authoring program. Author Andre Persidsky offers step- by-step instructions throughout the book, explaining how to create your own movies using Director's sprite-animation, paint, text, sound, and digital-video features. You also get an introduction to the more difficult aspects of Director, including such issues as working with color, transitions, and tempo; making stand-alone movies; using Lingo, Director's scripting language; using Xtras, which are add-ins for extending Director; and working with the program's new built-in drag-and-drop behaviors. A Windows version of the book is also available.

5.0 out of 5 stars I think it is an excellent starting point, April 22, 1999
By A Customer
This review is from: Director 6 for Macintosh (Visual QuickStart Guide) (Paperback)
The tittle says it all," quickstart guide." It is design for those who know nothing about the program and want to get started. This was the first book I ever used for Director. I found it very easy to follow. Since, I have moved on to other more "advanced" Director books. Most of them tell you the same thing, but in 500 pages and for $30 more.

2.0 out of 5 stars Not for the beginner!!, October 1, 1998

I felt thet this book was the equivalent of handing someone a dictionary and then telling them to write a novel (all the words are there, just put them together).
