4.0 out of 5 stars Responsive Author
Huff's little guide is a bit dated, but the booklet has some good sources and ideas for persons wishing to start a home business. I like it that the author is willing to give me new information and answer business questions when I e-mailed her at CLBestHBB@ivillage.com. She cares for her readers.

This review is from: Directory of Home-Based Business Resources (Where to Find What You Want to Know Series) (Paperback)
The book consists of 34 pages of generic information; nothing specific here. For example, the author lists a few books about setting up and running a home business. You can get a more complete list of books on Amazon.com and you actually get a summary of what the book is about. Instead of purchasing this book, open the yellow and white pages of your phone book for trade, professional and governmental organizations, and go to the library and ask the librarian about information regarding the type of business you are interested in. Also included in the book is a very short list of small business software programs which we have all heard of. The software is listed along with the company's phone number and that is it. For information regarding the software, the author tells you to call or write the company. Why didn't the author just tell you to go to the computer store and ask for advice or maybe read another book? The first recommendation the author makes on how to choose the best computer for your business is to contact a computer consultant by "looking in your local telephone directory's Yellow Pages." I am not making this stuff up. Per the author, for a list of comunication specialists, "check your local Yellow Pages business direcory." Don't waste your money on this small book of information resources you already knew about. I think we all have already heard of the Yellow Pages, the White Pages and the library.
