Prior to this purchase, we have shared use of a Winegard portable dish that my brother owns but because we were planning a trip together it was time for us to get our own. We purchased this kit for use with our RV just prior to leaving for a month-long camping trip to a remote area of California. That the package arrived in a timely manner is about the only good thing we can say. It came the night before we left so there was no time to test reception. The package was only opened, inspected, and repacked. The kit was complete but we were skeptical of the tripod being new as the post was scratched and scarred by the blunt ends of mounting screws and one of the leg rivets had obviously been replaced. As noted by other buyers, there were no instructions included other than that for the satellite finder which were extremely difficult to follow. At our destination we spent several hours attempting to get reception but failed. To test our RV's system, we set up my brother's dish...it worked fine. We had other campers with similar systems attempting to help, all were unsuccessful. Even the park rangers joined in but there was never a hint of a connection. On the forth day, after exhausting everyone's efforts, we made the hour drive into town to call the vendor but that too proved a waste of time and gas money. We left 3 messages that day explaining our plight and asking for help but we got no response. A week later (still without reception) we made another trip to town and again phoned Satellite Oasis but again got no response. After waiting 4 hours in hope that someone would at least return our call, we found the nearest Camping World and purchased a Winegard dish that has worked perfectly.
We understand that there are times when products just fail. It's frustrating but it happens. But for the vender to have no regard for our perdicament is wrong. No way would I ever recommend this product or making a purchase from this vender.
