I bought this 580 gtx, modded it with Arctic Cooling Xtreme Plus, modded bios and overclocked to 942 core, and built this $2000 4.2 overclocked 6core cpu/16gb ram/watercooled system for this game that should have been released last year. Now launch day is two weeks away after numerous delays and Crytek announces that not only is the game built around Directx 9 instead of Directx 11, but now only the Directx 9 version will ship on PC and some Directx 11 effects will be patched on sometime later in the future. If you've dealt with Crytek game patches in the past, you know they aren't very reliable (Crysis 1 still crashes in Directx 10 with the latest patch). I feel so let down. So I was expected to beat the game in Directx 9, then a year later play through it again when and if a Directx 11 "patch" is released?!Time to cancel this preorder and pick up the game on Steam when the price goes down. And Amazon is still charging the FULL $60 for the game, while console player can get $10-$20 dollars off for a full version of their game. Steam, I'll be seeing you when the sale starts.
i din;t steal the game lot people on the crysis 2 forums say they try the leak game it not worng to try the leak game i even post on crysis 2 formus they din;t care .. im not the moron who hack in the crysis and put the unfish game
I think you are retard who has no content in what you write regardless of your grammar.
"I just hate the amount of people who think that grammar and elongated fancy phrases are necessary on the internet. When their content lacks of intellect and composure when they write it."- Some smart guy i met on the internet who owned everybody dunno his name though
If u cnt understnd wut im rting rite now then your brain works half da load of da 1 of a retard LMAO
Yea, Metro 2034 was just annouced. Im pumped. Being a die hard crysis fan i would get it on the pc anyways because yes i heard about the direct 9 at launch but dude the game still looks amazing even in direct 9, maybe not as good as crysis(the first one or warhead) looks but i heard direct 11 will be out a couple of weeks after the release. Ive played the pc demo and xbox demo and the difference in graphics are way different. pc being bright and crisp while the xbox version things pop up on the walls when you go closer and the game is more darker. The direct 11 at launch is a minor set back thats all. Get the game and you will love it even if you just play the multiplayer instead of the story until you can play in its glory of graphics. Just dont go console...its not worth it.
I'm considering it Keith. Maybe I'll preorder again if Amazon offers something to make it more worthwhile. Still a couple of weeks before release. Maybe I'll finish enough of my backlogged games by then and be looking for a new Directx 9 challenge by the 22nd.
If you don't mind digital downloads D2D (Direct2Drive) is offering 20% off all games purchased, including pre-orders. That brings the price of Crysis 2 down to $47.96...not a bad deal. It's the limited edition as well, and you can use the serial key provided by D2D on Steam if you wish, so it's pretty much the exact copy on Amazon, except digital instead of physical.
@Wes L You're telling me. Now I found digital version of the game is $38.55 @ g2play.net. Can't remember the last time I used a game disc in my PC. Oh wait, it was Unreal Tournament 2007. Install the game and never used the disc again. Since Amazon isn't giving a real discount for ordering, looks like we have a winner g2play.
I spent 1200 on my PC, and that was 2 years ago, and I play the Crysis 2 demo maxed out with very good FPS. Anyways, get Dragon Age 2! Just beat it, and it was amazing! Get it for PC, the console version is absolutely horrible!
Just got Dragon Age 2 on PC, and I am in love. Also I found this video comparing the Crysis 2 differences between the PC Directx 9 Demo and 360 Demo. It's clear that even the Directx 9 version has clearer, more defined textures, much better lighting, and the absence of the console's microstuttering of the gun being held. I just feel like I could have kept my Directx 10 rig I built a couple of years ago with the Core 2 Duo, 8gigs of ram, and ATI 4870 for Crysis 2 without any real difference in performance. See it here: http://pcformat.techradar.com/blog-entry/crysis-2-pc-vs-xbox-image-quality-09-03-11
Well Crysis 2 will still be preordered (at half price on another site), and I will just have to take comfort in the fact that games like Metro, Dragon Age 2, and a few others I own really benefit from the power of my new monster rig because with the new 55 inch Dynex LCD TV I'm using as a computer monitor, every game is being played at 1920x1080. P.S. Just got into Demon Souls on PS3 last week. That game is incredible and truly looking forward to the sequel, Dark Souls.
Review of the PC version. Use Google Translate. http://translate.google.dk/translate?js=n&prev=_t&hl=da&ie=UTF-8&layout=2&eotf=1&sl=auto&tl=en&u=http%3A%2F%2Fwww.gamereactor.se%2Frecensioner%2F26491%2FCrysis%2B2%2F
Tech Friendly, I think I understand where you're coming from, but don't write it off until you actualy play the game. It looks and plays very well on the PC - no doubt the best looking DX10 on the market - believe it or not I actually think it looks better than Metro.
