Written between Flood Tide and Atlantis Found, this book should be in any Cussler fan's library. It starts out with a clunky but entertaining enough story where Cussler wanders around a party in the hanger and reminices with Dirk's allies, girls, and villains before getting to the man himself. Then there's an interview where Cussler tells his whole life story, and it's a simply fascinating rags to riches tale. We continue with the best part of the book in my opinion, complete plot synopses and background info on every Cussler book up to Flood Tide, including The Sea Hunters. Finally, there's an encyclopedia of all the people, vehiclles, locations, and everything else in every book. It ends with the tantalizing first chapter of Atlantis Found. I had actually read that book first, but it would definitely make me want to buy it even if I wasn't a Cussler fan. Any Cussler fans out there, you must have this book!

This book is a must for any true Pitt fan. The book opens with a short story entitled "Reunion". Which is a wonderful glimpse of Dirk Pitt history for the diehard fan! The book ends with a preview of Dirk's and Al's next adventure, which I cannot wait for! In between,a wonderful synopsis of all Cussler's books, Dirk's cars and so much more info including Trivia! I recommend this book if: "A new book from Clive is like a visit from your best friend!" Dirk: "He's the man every woman wants and the man every man wants to be"

As other authors have done, or had done for them, (see Dean Koontz and Stephen King), Clive Cussler has put together an encyclopedia, if you will, of everything you've wanted to know about the Dirk Pitt series. Cussler has included synopses and character "i.d.'s" from every Dirk Pitt novel, up to "Atlantis Found". A prologue to "Atlantis Found" is even included. You'll also enjoy the sections on the Cussler car collection and Dirk Pitt trivia. If you are a long-time fan like I am and occasionally re-read some of the Pitt novels, then this compendium is for you. I would even recommend it to those just beginning the journey through the Pitt novels. Anyway you slice it, if you buy this book you will want to hang on to it and use if for reference from time to time.

Since reading"Raise The Titanic",I have become a major fan of CLIVE CUSSLER.This book brought back memories from all his books.This was a welcome addition to my collection.From Pacific Vortex to Cyclops to Shockwave,it made me remember things I had forgotten from names of characters to Dirk Pitt's collection

From " The Reunion " to the plot synopsis', this is a terrific read. Cussler gifted us with a most extraordinary little tale in The Reunion...which I won't give away here. The bio is wonderful and I found myself thinking " what I wouldn't give to have this guy as a neighbor. " It is all things Pitt and quite a bit Cussler, which may or may not be the same - but, it has been a repeat read and a book I have passed on to family and friends.

Ever wanted to relay between different books, staring Dirk Pitt and Assoc.? Well, now you got it! It gives all you need to know; if you are just started with the newest book and can't be brothered about the old ones, you will find the background to be in the loop! If you are a old fan of Clive and just want to see if your brain is still working, this is it. Amazing, incredible and superb!

Although I think this book should be titled "Clive Cussler Revealed", I think it is an excellent addition to my library of Cussler books. An in depth look at both Pitt and Cussler himself.

Potential buyers should be warned, this is NOT the latest Dirk Pitt adventure. Instead, it is a comprehensive reference guide listing the plotlines of the various Pitt novels, including major characters, locations, vehicles, and weapons used in the stories. Cussler includes a short story titled "The Reunion" that is simply wonderful, and Craig Dirgo's interview of the author should not be missed. This book is a collector's item for true fans of Cussler and Pitt.

Interesting information and recap of charactors in the Dirk Pitt series. But I found myself quicking flipping through the pages and skipping some other sections.

I was pleasantly surprised by this book. Clive's own life reads like a novel and the short story is great.
