5.0 out of 5 stars A Great Godly Intro To Dating
This book has been very helpful to me; it has opened my eyes into what the opposite sex really wants and doesn't want. This book has solid advice and common sense principles that will make sense almost as soon as you read them. And it reveals all of this and more in a Godly way, making this a sure book for any Christian teen who is wondering what dating is all about!

1.0 out of 5 stars This Is a Book About Changing so Boys Will Like You--Maybe the Boy God Wants for You Will Like You For Who You Are!
This book makes me very sad. The author is quick to talk to rebuke those "feminists" out there who are not going to like this book; however, as a strong Christian female with a former pastor as father and a very religious family I can say that this book frightens me. Marriage is based upon love and commitment and those are things that bloom from friendship. If he...

5.0 out of 5 stars Dirt on Dating, March 9, 2006

Great book! The guys in my youth group are really enjoying it. If you're looking for a book that delivers a Biblical view on dating while using a totally different book layout than you're used to, then this is the one.

5.0 out of 5 stars not like other dating books, June 29, 2006
This review is from: Dirt on Dating, The: A Dateable Book (The Dirt) (Paperback)
If you're worried, wonder or even asking questions about dating than this book is for you. If you're christian or not this book has tips on dating beyond your wildest dreams. It's informative and leaves the decision up to you, whether dating is right for you or not.

Other dating books just focuses on the negative side of dating and why one shouldn't. I strongly recommend this book to the individual, male or female, questioning dating.

An excellent book for any parent with teenagers of dating age. Easy to read, understand, and talk about with your child! It gives clear, concise, and fun examples about what a healthy dating relationship can (and should) look like!

1.0 out of 5 stars This Is a Book About Changing so Boys Will Like You--Maybe the Boy God Wants for You Will Like You For Who You Are!, August 13, 2010
If he doesn't want to date you because (and I quote) you don't, like "dateable girls," "know how to shut up" or you don't let him "open the door and the ketchup bottle" because of your need to be "Miss Independent," well, then he is NOT worth your time. Your husband should be your love and your best friend. If he only likes you for the chase (because according to this author girls should NEVER give chase and only return boys' calls 50% of the time at most and NEVER ask a boy out) then he is not the kind of person who will want to stay with you forever. He will be out looking for another chase. A man should appreciate you for who you are. If you are a tomboy who is loud and mischievous, you don't have to change to get a boy to like you--there are plenty of wonderful young men who LOVE a girl like that! If you are supposed to "never ask him what he's thinking because you probably won't like the answer" then he is NOT a good enough man for you! Honesty is one of the things God holds dear--a man should be honest with a woman, and vice versa. That is what we call HEALTHY love. Whether or not you go for the "woman submit to her husband thing" or not DOESN'T MATTER. Submission does not meant CHANGING WHO YOU ARE! It doesn't mean you have to scold yourself for talking to much or act timid when you are really outgoing!!! It means that you should offer that man the devotion of your heart--and he should be just as devoted to YOU, as a person. If you have to drastically change who you are to get a boy to like you then he is NOT the one that God meant for you to be with! The Hebrew text that speaks of a woman serving man are the same words that are used when they speak about God serving humans: He offers his ultimate and total love and devotion to us because we are in a relationship with Him! The boy of your dreams will appreciate you, whether you are quiet and shy or boisterous and outgoing. He will be honored by the fact that you reach out to him, ask to be with him, want to spend time with him. He will not feel a need to "chase" you because he knows you are his and he is yours. He doesn't want a relationship based on having to "catch" you--he will just want to be with you! This book is about settling, about forcing yourself to be someone you are not simply so that some boy will like you. But maybe you should think: if he doesn't like me for the beautiful, happy, caring person I am; if I have to measure every move, worried that I will step on his toes or make him feel like I am chasing him, maybe he is not the boy I WANT to spend my life with!
