I have had a Dirt Devil hand vacuum for 3 years and really like it. When the new KURV came out, I couldn't resist trying it. It works great and has a lot of power. I never use a broom. So far, the KURV hasn't run out of power before I finish the kitchen, utility room and 2 bathrooms (the rooms without carpet). It is the first hand vac I have had that doesn't start running out of power and slowing down before I am finished.

The vaccuum looks great, and it has decent suction. That's the positives.

However, I find it difficult to hold, at the shape is more designed for looks than ergonomics. The design also vents the outgoing air from a band around the middle, which tends to blow dust and crumbs and such all over as you're trying to clean. The tiny nozzle helps to increase the suction but reduces the aea convered, meaning you spend a lot more time making tiny passes over the area compared to wider intakes on traditional "dust buster" units.

For interim use between the weekly haulings out the massive Dyson animal, (Dyson DC07 Cyclone Animal Upright Vacuum, Purple,) I looked at the Dirt Devil Kone Vacuum (7.5 volt) and this, DD's newer, more powerful, 9.6 volt vac. Having two "house" dogs who have little more to do every day than lie about like couch potatoes and shed, I got the Kurv in luscious choco-latte and I'm glad I did. I leave it in the living room, charging and ready to go. And go it does!

It's an intriguing decorative piece - prompting one Boomer buddy to inquire - what's that? A Bong?

NO Wait! GET THIS: Dyson DC31 Handheld Vacuum Cleaner - wait `til they have the animal version back in stock. It's much better! (review amended 3/15/2011)

This looks great on our kitchen counter top - very funky and doesn't look like a hand vacuum. As for performance - I wouldn't say it's fantastic - it could have better suction but for small jobs it's good enough.

My husband got this for me for Christmas (of course after I told him to and then saw it for a great price on amazon with free shipping). I love it!! It is strong enough to do everything I want it to, and it looks great sitting in the corner of my living room! love it!

We must have gotten a damaged model when we received a Kurv Spice for Christmas. The suction is pretty weak (you have to make 2-3 passes over a Cheerio to vacuum it up) and most everyone else likes the way it picks up crumbs, so ours must be damaged.

However, I wonder if everyone else has to struggle to remove the cap and put it back on every time they empty the trash compartment? Also, a large dust cloud emerges every time I empty the trash compartment.

With the weak suction and all the other trouble, I've begun to just bend over and pick up the crumbs with my hands like I did before.

I wouldn't recommend this product to anyone.

I bought this vac a year or so ago, and have regretted it ever since. Like most people I purchased this one in particular because I was attracted to the aesthetics. It still looks good, but that is absolutely all it does.

The thing won't hold a charge for longer than about a minute before its sucking power reduces to a pathetically useless level. It won't pick up objects larger than crumbs, and even that is a stretch sometimes with the heavier crumbs. (Seriously.) It has a vent on the side that sprays out air right in the direction of anything you're trying to vacuum, exacerbating the mess more than cleaning it up.

I spent extra money to get a vac that would look pretty when not in use, but it turns out all I got was a 60 dollar paperweight. It is COMPLETELY USELESS as a vacuum cleaner. I wish I had bought a cheaper, uglier vacuum cleaner - at least then it would be functional.

This product is not only a piece of art, but it works like a vacuum 4 times its size! I absolutely love this Kurv!

This little handheld is very powerful. It has a great little nozzle that fits into corners when I use it to clean out the car. It also is very modern looking and very attractive just sitting out in the living room.

Dirt Devil Kurv is the best! I love the way it looks but more, how it works. It's a great little vacuum for everyday pickups. I'm extremely pleased.
