We've used one of these for a couple of years and have been very pleased with it. Because it has it's own beater/brush it works great at removing pet hair from our furniture. It picks up hair that the suction hose from our floor vac just can't get. I also like the fact that it has a reusable bag.

A very handy household appliance!

I have used my Dirt Devel for years (along with Dust Busters and Hoovers). I like the fact that it is noisy; I know it is working hard. I know it works well because the bag fills up faster than any other vacuum appliance I own. And nothing surpasses it for getting the dog hair off the furniture. The fact that you don't have to use paper bags, but can just empty out the cloth bag over and over and over (Less than $7.00 to replace) is a money and time saver.

This incredible little hand vac truly does what it's supposed to do and more. I believe its simple design, rotating brush and large dirt carrying capacity, make it as powerful as a minature upright. I bought one in 1997 and it's still going strong. I just bought two more in case they discontinue this model. The real test I gave this vac was to vacuum white cat hair off a dark blue bedspread. It passed the test with a grade of A+. It's easy to use, not too noisy and very durable. How lucky can you get?

This is the best hand vac you can get. It has more power & suction for picking up pet hair, etc. than any I have tried. You can't go wrong & the price is right.

Got stairs and pets and kids?? Better shop around.

I wanted a powerful, portable vacuum to clean pet hair and dirt off the 2 flights of stairs in my home. Well, if that is what you are looking for....keep looking!

There is close to no suction power through the beater brush and even less through the crevice tool. And if that wasn't bad enough you are almost guaranteed to be deaf by the end of the first three stairs!

The only recommendation here is keep a receipt for a refund if you decide to buy anyway!!

...It is one of the best purchases I've ever made! After my SO brought home two shedding-machine kitties, my furniture was covered in a layer of hair that my big vaccuum couldn't handle. I got the Dirt Devil, and the rotating brush pulled up every last strand of it! I bought it in December and my 7-yr old daughter, whose chore had been to vaccuum the couch, promptly deemed it her "favorite Christmas present ever". She loves using it, and I never have to prompt her to clean.

I previously had an old Dustbuster, and it turned me off to hand-vacs. I purchased this one only because I found it on sale. I've never regretted it-- it makes an easy job out of even the hairiest messes.

Ok, it's cute, but I can't get good suction out of mine. I'm talking like CRUMBS. Let alone spider webs, etc. Maybe I have a lemon, but I'm not happy with it. Also the hose always comes unplugged! I'm going looking for a new handheld !

I love mine, found it after having lost it for 10 years, the best lil vac you can use for cars n spills! Highly recommended :)

This would be nice to have if it had enough suction to pick up even light dirt. Unfortunately the suction is not even close to being sufficient. Even with the beater brush it is unable to clean anything but extremely light materials. I do not recommend buying one of these vacuums.

I love this machine. Nothing is better for cleaning carpeted stairs or getting dog and cat hair off of upholstery. I've had mine for years, had to replace the belt once, but it just keeps going. Noisy it may be, but my big upright can't do the job this machine does on upholstery, and if it ever dies, I'll promptly buy another just like it.
