Shaped with a broad flat head, the machine features two battery-powered brushrolls that snag particles, debris, and dirt, and spin them into the onboard dirt catchers. Since the rolls are positioned on the front and back of the machine and spin in opposite directions, efficient cleaning takes place both coming and going. I was skeptical when I first saw it, but decided to give it a chance. I have low-nap carpet, linoleum, and laminate flooring--this product works very well on all these surfaces. It is much easier and less back-breaking than using a broom or pushing a heavy vacuum cleaner. Good for quick pick-up or in-depth cleaning.

This dual brush model overcomes the problems of single brush sweepers. With traditional single brush sweepers (like the Shark), it only picks up dirt in the forward direction. When you pull it back, the flap underneath actually pushs dirt back in your direction and doesn't get swept up. The Dirt Devil Dual Brush sweeps up dirt in both directions, cutting down on your cleaning time.Sweepers also pick up more dirt and large particles than floor cloths (like Swiffer). I wouldn't use this on carpet, unless it's very low, closed-loop -- like at an office. For carpet, get a vaccuum. But for hardwood or bare floors, this works like a dream! Great for picking up tracked kitty litter or dry pet food.

we are just getting ready to order another one. my wife wore the other one out. very handy,batteries hold a long charge. works super on an indoor outdoor carpet surface or hardwood floors. easy to clean,light,portable. super deal. thick carpet forget it. well worth the money!
