Designed to draw dirt into the center of its nozzle instead of in the side like some vacuums, this upright vacuum increases suction efficiency by shortening the path to its paper bag. Air and dirt bypass the motor and fan and go directly into the bag, preventing damage to the 1,440-watt motor from larger debris. Accompanying the vacuum is a powered hand tool with a rotating brush that's terrific for cleaning upholstery, stairs, and motor vehicles. Also included are a dusting brush, crevice tool, and extension wand that store onboard and attach to the vacuum's stretch hose. For cleaning various types of carpets and rugs, the vacuum offers seven height settings for its 14-inch cleaning path, which is illuminated by a headlight.
A true HEPA filter that's at least 99.97 percent effective at trapping particles as small as 0.3 microns cleanses air being returned to the room. Another filter protects the motor. Both are replaceable. Other features: soft bumper to protect furniture; full-bag indicator; 32-foot power cord; slip-resistant grip; wishbone-shaped handle for easy control. The vacuum assembles in seven simple steps with a Phillips screwdriver. (Five screws, one fastener, and illustrated instructions included.) Loss of suction after 3 months,

The vacuum worked great at first, but after a couple of weeks, you could notice a decline in suction power. Now, at three months, there is very little power left.The filters have been cleaned regularly, even replaced once to see if that was the cause. No luck. ... This is our second (and last) Dirt Devil vacuum.

This vacuum cleaner is much heavier than expected. It is difficult to carry up and down stairs.The delivery took 4 to 5 weeks with no explanation. The belt comes off way too easily. During each use, I have to replace the belt. I have gone through 2 broken belts. I expected this with my cheap Dirt Devil, but this time, I bought an expensive version and it has more problems than the cheap one.

I love this incredible machine. It is VERY powerful, goes from carpet to uncarpeted areas with ease. The only reason I didn't give it 5 stars is because of the way one must empty the collector...I always seem to get dust everywhere. That's not enough to discourage me. This vacuum is the greatest!!! Before purchasing this vacuum I did alot of research & independents rate it #2, second only to a vacuum that costs 3 times more!
