After reading the other 5 star reviews I ordered this item. I wanted to replace my Shark cordless sweeper that was wearing out. The Dirt Devil was more flimsy than the Shark. It didn't pick up as well. The entire top of the sweeper was covered with dust after I used it; this never happened with the Shark. It was hard to turn on and off with my foot compared to the Shark. The final problem occurred after I had used it for less than a week and the left wheel broke off. I returned it for a refund.

Although my experience with this product was disappointing, as always, my experience with Amazon was completely satisfactory. They have a return policy with no questions asked and send you a return mailing label. I find myself buying more and more from Amazon because of their superior customer service.

This model Dirt Devil is a great little sweeper; it fits under chairs and other furniture; and it is lightweight and quiet. It runs quite a while on a single charge.

I bought this for my elderly mom to help out with basic cleanup since the vacuum is too heavy for her, and she can't bend her back very well to do regular sweeping. To her, this sweeper is a god-send. It picks up everything rather well from carpets and the bare kitchen floor. It is super light and maneuvers around very easily. Also, Amazon's price is half of what we saw at the store!

As first I thought this little sweeper was a dream come true. It had enough power to keep our hardwood floors looking presentable and it was easy to use. The features I like include: cordless, lightweight, easy on/off, sweeps easily under furniture, easy to empty. Sadly, after 6 months the thrill is gone. I've started to notice that it does a poor job of edging. More disappointing, it seems to have lost it's omph; the floors still feel gritty after I sweep. The brushes look tired, and the motor sounds like it's dying. I really wish someone would design a lightweight sweeper like this one, but one that continues to work well over time. Maybe it's just a matter of designing it to make it easy to change the brushes and battery. I really hate throwing things away when repairs are simple to make.

I just can't seem to keep the kitchen floor clean. I got this to help me out. I just it each day to pick up the crumbs and stuff that collects. It helps to cut down on the mess and I don't have to mop as often. I also run it over the living room carpet. It has more power on the hard flooring. But for just light cleaning during the week it does great. But it will in no way replace your vacuum cleaner.

I got this from my daughter as a christmas gift , i have had those sweepers you see on tv and there is a big differance . This one is quiet and works very well. The others worked ok but werent quite and didnt last very long. Im sure i will enjoy using my dirt devil for a long time. I recommend this product highly to anyone looking for a good swivel sweeper. Thumbs up !!!!

Love this for small messes - usually use it for when the cats leave litter near their boxes or other small messes like that when I don't feel like getting out the regular vacuum. The battery lasts for a pretty long time considering I don't use it every day

This thing is horrible! Granted I can not compare to a shark or any other brand, I can certainly give a detailed review of this one!
I've had this only 6 months. I got it to be able to do a quick clean of my kids crumbs. This does not take the place of a good old fashioned broom! We have tile and it does not do a good job of picking up in the grout lines. I imagine if you have wood or laminate it would do better. It does not get what is next to baseboards or corners. It will do an ok job on low pile carpeting such as rugs, but it makes the motor slow way down. It will do nothing on regular carpet.
It does not hold a charge! The description states the battery lasts 35 minutes- HA that is a joke. More like 15 and that is pushing it.
When I lift the handle to empty it sometimes the bin opens and dumps the crumbs right back on the floor. That is most annoying!
The only pro is that it is very light and easy to push, and will pick up the big stuff right in the middle of the floor. That is it.
I would go with another brand, but I wish I could recommend which one!

We have had 2 sharks before and they never last a incredibly long time but I had hopes for this one on our hardwood floors to help sweep up. Not so much.... suction is not great, fills up quickly and things are spitting back out frequently, you are going over areas repeatedly, did not hit the mark for us!

I bought this floor sweeper to use daily in cleaning up my kids' crumbs and my husband's messes! It works quite well on my laminate floor and carpet. I would not use it as a formal vaccuum cleaner, but it works great in picking up a food trail from my 2 year old! My only complaint is once in a while it stalls while sweeping the carpets. Overall, this is just what I needed when my Shark sweeper handle (of 5 years) broke.
