* Good suction on the floor brush- so far. I've only had it a week.
* Bad attachment suction.
* Loud Loud motor, and a high pitched whistling noise.
* The top of the canister filter gets clogged up every 10 minutes and you have to open the canister to loosen it up so proper suction is restored.
* The canister push button empty process is messy. The bottom of the canister kicks out hard and dust goes flying. Even then you still have to stick you hand up to clean out the top of the filter.
* There is already this weird burning smell even while the canister is empty and the band is new.
* Clumsy and badly engineered attachments.
* The extension hose keeps coming loose from the fittings. I have to keep pushing it in.
* The attachments don't stay secure either when using the extension or crevice tool.
* The brush attachment does not work on my couch or stairs. The brush stops spinning.
* The cord is obtrusive and clumsy, it is always getting in the way.
* The bare floor setting DOES NOT WORK on bare floors. It doesn't suck anything up. It only spreads it all over the floor.

I wish I would have read the reviews for the Dirt Devil Vision Turbo Upright Model 088400. This seems like it is the same vacuum cleaner and has some of the worst reviews ever for a vacuum cleaner.

I am a stay at home mom and have four boys. Needless to say I have to vacuum every day. This vacuum is a big sweaty dirty disaster.

I just bought this vacuum last night. I used it once and the motor has messed up. The motor started to smoke. When using the attachments, the suction is horrible. I will be taking it back tomorrow!!!

I have to disagree with the other reviewers on this item. Yes, I agree, it's no Dyson. I have an older model of this vacuum that I have had for at least 7 years. I have tortured that vacuum with pet hair and cat litter, and that thing just keeps on going. So, I decided to take a chance on this one despite the bad reviews. For the price, I am pretty happy. My old Bissel Pet vacuum quit after about 3 years, and was a pain in the butt anyway to empty. The new Vision is lighter weight than my old Vision, but is still doing a great job. It smelled a little when I first started it up but that went away. The new canister design is unusual to empty, but still better than the canister on my Bissel. The cord is annoying, coming from the bottom, but I just hold it in my hand to keep it out of the way. For the price I paid for this vacuum, I am Very happy. Let's see if it lasts as long as it's predecessor! UPDATE: July 15, 2010. Still happy with this. The dog is blowing his coat for the 2nd time this year, and the Dirt Devil is still picking it up like a champ! I've gotten used to the canister and like it very much, easy to empty. For what I paid for this item, I am pretty darn pleased with it's performance!!

What a terrible vacuum. Worked fine the first time, but then went downhill incredibly fast. A mere 6 months after its purchase, this loud, useless waste of space will not even pick up a ball of dust, on any of the carpet settings. The accessories have pathetic suction when attached, and the bagless cup is a pain to empty, and scatter dust whenever it opens.

Do not buy this vacuum unless you are going to give it to someone you hate.
