Karma Is A Funny Thing,
By Teresa Beasley (Indianapolis,IN) - See all my reviews
This review is from: Dirtier Than Ever: A Novel (Paperback)
In the third book in the Dirty series, Dirtier Than Ever, by Vickie Stringer, the author does not disappoint readers with a new installment of drama, mischief, and mayhem. Readers are reintroduced to Bacon who has just gotten out of prison and ready to put his plan into action. Bacon will stop at nothing to get what he believes he deserves. Quincy has gotten out of the game. He has let his feelings for Raven Gomez better known as Red die. Quincy was relieved to be done with Red until she pays him one last visit.
Red realizes the true meaning of karma when she is once again stuck in a bad situation with Bacon's name written all over it. Bacon tends to forget how much of a fighter Red is and that her mind is always working in survival mode. When all is said and done, will Red have the last laugh? Dirtier Than Ever is about suspenseful revenge. The characters are still up to no good, which makes for an exciting book of twists and turns. Readers will enjoy this page-turning book of entertainment. Having followed the series from the beginning it has become more intriguing as the characters and their wrongdoings unfold. I recommend Dirtier Than Ever to urban and street-lit fans. This book was provided by the author for review purposes. Teresa Beasley APOOO BookClub APOOO Rating: 4.5

What makes a woman so beautiful, so ugly?,
By
This review is from: Dirtier Than Ever: A Novel (Paperback)
What happens to a woman scorned? Does she shrivel up like a raisin in the sun, or does she come at you with a vengeance and hope you run!
Beautiful, Sexy Raven Gomez unaffectionately know also as Red, inside she's cold, her heart hard trusting nothing and no one. What makes a woman so beautiful, so ugly? Red has used and discarded so many people no one would spit on her if she was on fire. She's amassed her fortune becoming a writer and padding it with money she's swindled from others. But now she finds herself in a sticky situation, that has taken everything she's acquired and lands her back in the hands of someone she betrayed. Has she finally crossed the wrong one? Will she find a way out and come back with a side order of revenge and put all the players in motion and watch them fall like dominoes? But at what cost? Maybe her life! I must say I really enjoyed this story and since this is my first read about the infamous Red, I'll go back to her beginning while I wait patiently to see what happens next! Once again I ate this up! Vickie has a way of making you love and hate Red all at once. I have recommended this series to people who I know that love to read.
I'm happy that Q didn't let Red off the hook this time although I thought he would for a minute there. And Red was so wrong for what she did to Terry and Officer Thomas, I trully feel bad for them. I hated Kera in this book, in Still Dirty I liked Kera but she lost her mind in this one. I like that we finally got to hear from Catfish in all the other books he was like this invisible guy that people talked about but never showed up. Bacon... *sigh* Bacon, no words for how stupid he trully is. I would have given the book 5 stars but the typos and inconsistencies were just sloppy. The way Mekel went from Mekel Chambers to Mekel Simmons (when Red reported him to CPS) then back to Mekel Chambers, sloppy. And the small typos like "sad" instead of "said". It was just laziness and trying to do things too fast. The book itself was great though.

Can she get any dirtier?,

This review is from: Dirtier Than Ever: A Novel (Hardcover)
In Vickie Stringer's third installment of the Dirty Red series she takes the reader through yet another escapade of the scandalous, outrageous, scheming and conniving acts of the striking, stunning, and beautiful dime piece, Raven Gomez, better known as Red. And who for lack of better verbiage, Red is simply psychotic, ruthless, emotionless, and dirtier than ever. Everybody plays the fool, in Red's world, and there's definitely no exception to her rules.
Raven Gomez, is a chick that will endure pain and grief to revenge those whom she has deemed to have aggrieved her. Raven Gomez doesn't forget and loves for her victims to know that it is she who devises plans to destroy their lives. It doesn't matter, whether she loved you or was loved by you, if you cross her there is a price to pay. Red, plots and executes at the expense of anyone who dares to get in her path. So as you become engrossed with Dirtier Than Ever you will be entertained with Red's reasoning for doing the things that she does. But, is her time running out? Will she be able to execute mishaps on ruthless people and escape unscathed? Red is as dirty as dirt can get. She put the capital S in scandalous and the N is naive...doesn't she know the law of gravity, that what goes up must come down? Has she ever heard that what goes around, comes around? Will Red meet her demise? Will she pay for the grief she has inflicted and caused others? Well, if we are to find out, then we will have to wait for the next installment of The Red Series to see how it all plays out. Dirtier Than Ever, was a pleasurable and quick paced read for this reader. However, there were times that the book was quite superficial, deficient of any real foundation, but it was still entertaining enough to anxiously turn the pages. As usual, the cliff hanger will have the reader anticipating the next installment of this series. Reviewed by Marie for WDSbc

Vickie Stringer is a captivating writer. Read all of her books. Red is a great character. She never lets you down with how dirty she can be. She just gets worse as time goes on. I do look forward to the next book, but try not to make us wait a year. I started to forget some of the characters, but trust me Red brought my memory back. I really felt sorry for Det. Thomas. Keep up the good work. I got all of peeps hooked on her writing.
