Wow! I cannot wait for the release of the "Nine Lives" album on April 29th after hearing Dirty City by Steve Winwood and Eric Clapton. Be sure to listen to the longer version which is 7:45 long. Stevie Winwood's voice and keyboards along with Eric Clapton on guitar make an unforgettable combination on this killer cut! One of the best blues/jazz songs I have heard in years. Let's hope that Stevie and Eric decide to tour together.

This reminds me very much of Peter Gabriels' work. (surprise) I heard this on WNCW (shameless plug for terrific online radio) If you like Peter Gabriel, you cannot go wrong with this song. I am looking forward to hearing more from Winwood, whom I had evidently grossly underrated.
If he can deliver this consistantly, I'm sold. Good tune. |
