What can I say, it's KROKUS!,

Since I heard their style from the Blitz, I had no doubt that these guys are unique. They just blend together and deliver a delicious mixture of hard guitar flashes and screams.

A Great Early 80's Compliation!,
By E-Train "son_of_thunder99" (NJ, USA) - See all my reviews
This review is from: Dirty Dozen: Very Best of (Audio CD)
This CD includes 17 rockin' classics by one of Europe's most under-rated Metal Bands! All tracks are remasters from the original studio recordings. It is a good mix of hits from Metal Rendez-Vous, Hardware, One Vice at a Time, and Headhunter. This one is great for the "classic" Krokus fan. That is, before they got "poppish" in the mid-80's. The quote on the back cover puts it the best - "May some of these songs be remembered for what they stand: Pure Rock 'n Roll juice for the hearts of our fans."

The best album AC/DC never did,

This sounds just like Bon Scott era AC/DC but with stronger guitar hooks, sing along lyrics, and tons of energy. These are the Von Arb/Von Ruhr era classics like "Bad Boys", "Headhunter", "Long Stick" and "Heatstrokes" this has all the great Krokus songs. Only knock is the cover tunes that really are not that great but are what Krokus is known for, which is a shame. A teriffic car CD.

I originally owned the The Best of Krokus: Stayed Awake All Night compilation, a CD I enjoyed for many years. I was recently organizing my music collection when I realized I had lost the CD (don't ask me how!). I checked Amazon to buy a replacement, and started reading user reviews of various Krokus albums. Well, the one I had didn't fare too well in the reviews, mostly because it didn't include some of the band's best tracks, and because two of the songs it did have were covers. I kept reading and finally settled on The Dirty Dozen, since it did much better in reviews.
I have to say, this is one of the better music purchases I've made recently. It blows the other CD away, both in number and quality of songs. I've been rocking out pretty hard for the last few weeks, rediscovering a great 80's band. These guys really were terrific musically, with that always appealing blend of hard rockin' and pop sensibility. I love it, and this CD is highly recommended.

Krokus - 'The Dirty Dozen' (BMG),
By
This review is from: Dirty Dozen: Very Best of (Audio CD)
Must-have seventeen track compilation of some of Krokus best work - some tunes that I've completely forgot about. Was great to hear again their Guess Who's cover of "American Woman", the *ss-kicking "Ready To Burn", "Rock City", "Easy Rocker", "Long Stick Goes Boom" and "Eat The Rich". For any possible new fan(s) out there, it's more or less key tunes off their classic lp's 'Metal Rendez-Vous' ('80), 'One Vice At A Time' ('82) and 'Headhunter' ('83). A must-have.
