Editorial Reviews

For almost 40 years now, Krokus has stood for high-quality, honest-to-goodness, hand-made power rock. No other Swiss rock band sells albums worldwide like Krokus. The band has already sold over 14 million records, toured the world, and received gold and platinum discs in the USA and Canada. The milestones in their rock career are dotted around the world: from Australia and the USA to Mexico, Russia, Japan, and China. Today they are back in their classic line-up with Mandy Meyer and are stronger than ever on their new album, DIRTY DYNAMITE. The band spent two years working on the new album under the watchful eye of producer Chris Von Rohr at the legendary Abbey Road Studio. Guitarist Mark Kohler has this to add: 'This is not just another Krokus album. I think we have definitely passed another rock milestone with this record.'

Krokus has done it yet again. Putting their own twist on the early AC/DC and Bad Company sound, they have come up with another blistering batch of boogie rock that ups the ante from their last effort "Hoodoo" even more.

The opener "Hallelujah Rock N' Roll" is a great track to launch the album. "Yellow Mary" and "Rattlesnake Rumble" are two other classics. They slow it down a bit for a cover of "Help" and the blues influenced title track. A few tracks are so-so, as "Better Than Sex" is pretty close to being just filler. But even the weaker tracks are more than tolerable, and the strong ones rock out with a melody you'll be humming all day. This band shows absolutely no sign of slowing down, and if you liked their last effort, give this a spin. It's just as good, if not a bit better.

My 2 Krokus favorites are Headhunter and One Vice... and Dirty Dynamite plays just like One Vice..Headphones on and before you know it 40 minutes of rockin entertainment have passed and you are clicking repeat. Buy this album if you love One Vice...

From the opening Guitar riff of "Hallelujah Rock n' Roll" you know what to expect from this album and that is what you get, Bluesy,Hard Rockin music that kicks you in the teeth and it does that very well. Following the style of their last album 2010's "Hoodoo" Krokus brings up the notch a bit and releases a much better album. The songs are more upbeat and the production really shines. The tunes "Go Baby Go" and "Hard Rockin Man" have a perfect vintage "Hardware" era sound to them, "Rattle Snake Rumble" "Yellow Mary" and "Bailout Blues" are all stand out tracks, And of course Marc Storace is in fine form sounding so much like Bon Scott that it's kinda creepy haha. The only complaint I have about this album is that I wish they would have went more for the heavier sounds of "One Vice At A Time" "Headhunter" or the more recent album "Hellraiser" But for what it is "Dirty Dynamite" is a solid Hard Rock album for 2013 and if you're a fan of Krokus or any bands of the genre you'll enjoy this release.

This Krokus album is as good of a hard rock album as I've heard in a long time. I thought rock was dead but this album gives it a heart beat again!

I like the album. It's not as hard a rock as some of their older stuff, but it's a good mix. Very listenable album. I purchased the album about a week ago and have listen to the entire album three times. I normally don't listen to all song on an album. These days it's getting harder and harder to find any rock n' roll music, let alone any thing good.

If you're looking for the "Headhunter-sound", this CD is not for you! I was very, very excited to hear their new release, but have already sold it back. Like another reviewer posted, they sound like Bon Scott era AC/DC at best, then they just peter-out. Boring, riff-less tunes with no soul. Nothing like "Eat the Rich" on here at all! If you like your metal more like mellow-rock, then get this by all means. If you like metal with some punch, then stay away... Just my opinion...

Holy crap real rock n roll is still alive ! I was hesitant about this new release from Krokus but being a big fan I had to grab it up and Im glad that I did. Marc Storace is still in great form and amid all the controversy of his voice he still sounds like Bon Scott and while others hate it I have allways loved it !

In fact the first two songs sound just like something from ACDC back in the Bon Scott days and theres nothing wrong with that. This cd just pure rocks ya back to the days of good ole rock n roll, and thats a good place to be.

Not much to say other than Krokus keeps putting out solid music!
Nothing that's going to hit the stations these days, but a solid album from start to finish.
If you like to stomp your feet and move to some great riffs, buy this album!
