Down and dirty? Birds eye view is more like it. It should have been called "30,000 Foot Overview of Making Adult Sites."When I saw this book for sale I immediately ordered it and had it shipped express...I couldn't wait to read it! I was so excited by what great examples and tutorials would be inside waiting for me to eat up! Now that I've read it I don't even remember 1 thing to walk away with. To be fair, this book offers some helpful tips for running a general business like budgeting, insurance, different types of corporations, getting an accountant and some very basic design suggestions, but that's about it. Theres nothing in this book to sink your teeth into and absolutely no secrets are given away, it's just very basic information: you should have atleast 32MB of ram in your computer, update your paysite often, say please and thank you when communicating with customers. I'm particularly bothered by the fact that the author(s) said they would present stories of people in the business, but there are only 2 short quick stories in the beginning that are barely a paragraph long about a soccer mom and a guy who worked as an adult movie assistant then started making his own and now he's successful. Whoo-PEE! How about some more stories of real people who made it? How about breaking down their stories and showing some samples that your readers could use? How about more on tgps. Should I start one? Would you suggest I use a traffic trading script and skim, or keep it clean and go for the bookmarkers? Should I go for niche or general theme on my tgp? What kinds of income do people generate with making galleries and running 1 or more tgps? How long can I expect it to take for my tgp to start generating income? How about some information to getting serious traffic to my site besides recip linking and putting meta tags on my pages? Chapter 14 was a joke. I can't believe it's so scarce on information. How did "Eric P" become so successful selling his movies? How about getting into the nitty gritty like your title suggests? Dont tell me that some people have become rich from thinking of ideas that are outside the box, show me some examples! So frustrating!!!! This book is all over the place and doesn't give any concrete examples of people who have done it and how they did it. Almost everything given in this can be found in tutorials all over the web. What a waste of time.

If you have ever wondered about how to go about starting an adult website but you just didn't know where and how to start - this book tells it all. I was lucky enough to get my hands on one of the very rare advance publication copies and I couldn't have been more pleased. The best thing I like about this book is the fact that it quickly dispels the "get rich quick" notions that a lot of new adult webmasters have. These guys tell it like it is. They don't keep going on and on about how rich you will be, instead, they show you how to build a business. I have been making a pretty good living putting up adult sites now for about two years. I wish I had this book then! If you are even thinking about starting an adult website - or just curious about how this business works do yourself a favor and read this book first. You definitely won't find any other book like it!

I've been considering putting up an adult site for a while - out of work tech worker here! Actually making a site was not my problem. My problem was how to make it in the adult business. This book is the best place to start if you are even halfway considering an adult site. If you are starting out and you want a lot of solid information this is the book to get. Can't wait for a second edition!
